The TV shows was well made, it was much better than expected.The dish 9 (episode 43 and 44) had some issue.

This tv series is NTSC so you do not need a dvd player that does PAL to NTSC conversion. The dvds play fine on my LG dvd player and my Sony Blu-Ray player.The box set is beautiful. The box opens to 3 separate dvd holders, each with its own artwork. The dvd holders are hard, clear plastic. There are 50 episodes on 10 dvds. Each dvd has 5 episodes and 50 chapters, each one a little over 4 minutes. The picture is 16:9 and is clear and sharp. The subtitles are well done with almost no mistakes, so the story is very easy to follow.The action uses lots of wirework and minimal CG effects. The fights are easy to follow because the camera focuses on the hands, feet and hits. The action is well done and I was quite satisfied. The quality of the action and the sets and costumes is on par with the 2017 Legend of Condor Heroes.The actors capture the characters well. The actress playing Zhao Min especially captured me, but I can't think of one that annoyed me. The villains were evil and heroes heroic. The changes from good to evil and evil to good were handled well. All in all, this is an excellent tv series.I don't give 5 stars because of disk quality. On disk 3, there was a spot around 1:56 that froze my Blu-ray player, and on my dvd player, it skipped a minute or two of the program. The glitch is annoying, especially with the premium price paid for the NTSC format. It was not enough to ruin the program for me and I did not contact the seller for a replacement, deeming it more trouble than it's worth. However, a buyer should know of possible problems, even small ones, given the high price for the dvd set. As it stands, I an still quite happy with my purchase and would recommend it to any Jin Yong or Chinese tv series fans.

This was my first introduction to Chinese Drama Series. It starts off action packed, with over-the-top plot twists, and some well thought of and sometimes, long-winded emotional moments. The Case that the DVDs came in, looks amazing, yet some parts of mines is coming apart, even though I just got it about a week ago. If that was the regular case, and not the deluxe, I could have been fooled into believing it is the deluxe, because of how well it was made. As for the shipping, it came quicker than expected which is good, but damages was done to the case, and some of the DVDs was not in their place. I give my overall experience was good one. The first two episodes are a little rough to get through, but by episode 3, it's the most Binge-Watchable HS&DS version ever. The Directors are FANTASTIC! The camera-work, sound design, acting, story flow... PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING is just out of this world, a whole new level of quality...and what a great cast! There are many returning fan favorite actors and actresses, while the young Zoomer generation and even the child actors are fantastic as well. (Most notably, Chow Hoi-mei's return is wonderful, in my opinion)I just don't even know where to start. If you're a Condor Trilogy fan, you're probably happy. If you're new to the Condor Trilogy, I'd say start here. It's the third book, but it's also the most accessible to the Western Audience, in my opinion.I suggest watching 3 episodes at a time, on average. Watch less, and you don't adjust to the pacing. Watch more, and you burn out on it.
