A Simple Dice Chucker for Children
This is a nice simple game about rolling and re-rolling dice and placing to claim victory points (or invalidate someone's claim/alter victory point values). It uses tiny tiny, flimsy cardboard pens, and a LOT of tiny cardboard tokens. For how simple this is, it looks pretty intimidating at first due to the huge amount of tokens. Personally I think a counter (ala King of Tokyo) would have been less messy, but whatever. The tokens are functional. The core of the game is about rolling and re-rolling those dice and chasing the high numbers, but there's lots of "take that" because it's relatively easy to invalidate someone's claim or change the value to hurt them. In that way this game is actually pretty aggressive.Build value and theme are sadly absent here. There's no character powers, and the theme REALLY feels tacked on. I know the game is trying to be simple, but it's so simplistic and non-thematic I think we can safely relegate this one to kids as long as they don't get too frustrated. At the original price this game wasn't really worth it, but for the current going price it's fine to buy for your kids if they like fast and frantic games and like throwing dice. Just make sure they like/don't mind the extreme amount of pink in this game.
