How long does the colour last? Unsure if its a semi, demi or permanent.

I am a hairdresser and have used Elumen for many years. Elumen is great for covering small amounts of grey and amazing for shine as you don't use any peroxide. Depending on how often you change your haircolour depends on if it's suitable for you. It is like a gel and stains the hair so works differently to other kinds. However you also need to purchase lock which seals the colour in. It holds its colour better than any product but once in is difficult to remove. The reds etc are very vibrant and can be mixed with rv or vv and the naturals are great if you are looking just to maybe give colour and shine without damage. Hope this helps

NO, not really. I've tried covering strong grey root when hairdresser missed a stubborn spot and it didn't take at all. But it is amazing/brilliant on ends - It's just not as effective as a permanent dye. I use goldwell topchic on roots and blend in Elumen on the ends when my hair feels dried out or damaged where I've processed w/ peroxide too much. It's great on the mid to ends where it's been previously coloured - it makes hair super healthy and shiny, and really lasts much longer than some permanent. Plus I like a very blue-based red which fades pink not orange, and this RV helps. If the root colour comes out too orangey-red, I use this as a tint on top of the permanent. However, as much as I love it, it's silicone base is SO slippery and much messier and harder to apply neatly than a normal dye. It's like gel. And if it gets on the floor, you need bleach to remove it. So be careful. There is a thing you can add to thicken it but I haven't tried it. (hard to find)
