Exact replacement part for my tiller.
Purchased this gear shaft to replace a chewed up one in my murray tiller. I would like to mention six years ago I had obtained this tiller for free from a relative who noticed a neighbor was throwing it out. Fresh gas and a new spark plug got it going up until this year the gear shaft stripped. This saddened me a bit since I have grown quite fond of my little tiller over the years and has proven to be one of my favorite tools in the garden. Well needless to say, I was very pleased to find this replacement part with a reasonable price to boot. Other reviews say half an hour to do the work, for me it was a little over an hour because I thoroughly cleaned the inside of the gear case to get rid of any brass shavings left from the old one that could prematurely wear out the new one. The fit was perfect, meshed well with the worm gear. After pumping the case up with fresh grease and reattaching the engine, I was back to cultivating the garden.

Worked perfectly
Didn't think I would find a replacement shaft for my 90's-ish Craftsman 2 HP - 10 inch mini tiller until I came across an obscure forum post indicating this particular shaft would fit. I figured it was worth a shot because without a replacement shaft, the tiller was useless.Tiller works like a new one and I'm very happy!

Murry 56159MA
this gear assembly fit and worked perfectly in my small Sears Craftsman cultivator, the part was a bit pricey but still cheaper than I could get it locally, but worth it V.S. having to buy a new cultivator

Murray 56159MA Gear-long Shaft exactly what I needed.
I bought this for my Murray 11052x4C garden cultivator, which I bought used on a local auction. It needs to be relabeled as ''Murray 56159MA Gear-long Shaft for Garden Cultivators'' instead, in order to be easier for others to find on the Internet. It's a direct fit, works great, other reviews helped convince me of fit and performance, and provided other useful tips. This review hopefully will do the same. One thing I would mention: these little cultivators are for LIGHT DUTY CULTIVATING ONLY. If someone needs to do heavier duty TILLING, use a heavy duty garden TILLER, or get out the spade/shovel and break up the soil with that. Use these little cultivators only for what they were designed for, light duty cultivating. Hopefully this will allow our cultivators and their replacement gear/shaft last for us as needed.

High quantity OEM replacement part.
Exact fit for Craftsman cultivator 536292500! Part came in a Briggs and Stratton box. Be sure to clean all of the brass shavings and apply new grease. I used a grease gun and marine grease.

Drive shaft fits many tillers
Found a Sears Cultivator Tiller for free. Took it apart and thought "Easy fix, just a chewed up gear" Sears will not sell the gear. You needed to buy the whole tiller unit for $168. After some research I found that Murry made this tiller for sears and the parts were made by Brigg and Stratton. The driveshaft is used in may models made by many makers. This shaft fit right in the tiller as a direct replacement. The gear is a little off, by fractions of an inch, but a pipe and a hammer fixed that. So I have a brand new tiller cultivator for $68 and a half hour of work!

Good replacement, but pricey at 69.00, considering a new rototiller is only 199.00
It was the part needed and was shipped quickly, but I think 69.00 for this part is a bit high. I priced new rototillers at 199.00 at the local hardware store.

Everything I had expected
This was the best price I could find anywhere and without any shipping cost. The transmission housing this goes in was simple to repair. It only takes about 30-45 minutes for the whole project. Many other sites recommend replacing the entire transmission housing body that costs around $200 before shipping. I could have bought a brand new tiller for $230. I recommend using the grease type the farmers use. It usually comes in red or black and costs about the same as the OEM packing grease.
