I have not used the XL version so, I cannot tell you. However it does say that the “XL” will yield up to 1,100 pages and the regular cartridge yields up to 300.

Does this work with WF-3640 printer?

Yes it does. I have the same printer.

Those the Edson cartridge t252320 work on the Edson 710 printer

We have an Epson wf3620 series and it works on that. I can't tell you about the 710 prrinter. Maybe you should contact Epson directly.

Just be careful of old cartridges coming from third party vendors. Some clogging may occur.

While I was generally pleased with the product, I am always mindful of product coming from third party vendors. Coming from Epson I haven't seen any clogging of the product in the printer. Some of the product received was in boxes that seemed to have been 'abused'.

Runs out fast

Epson ink is wonderful but runs out very fast. While this genuine ink is very reasonable you will need to have back ups on hand for medium print projects. 25 copies or more you need to replace it.

Nice to be able to purchase individual colors

Over the years, it is clear that color printing does not uniformly utilize the colors evenly, so I wind up with extra yellow or magenta. Being able to purchase individual colors instead of all three as a set is nice. The price was reasonable (all printer ink seems overpriced for what you get), but this way I can stop having extras sitting around getting old. About time.
