Is there supposed to be a safety seal on this product?

Not on the pump itself. The screw cap one does where you flip the cap and push it into top and break seal. But the Abreva pump pictured only should be in an unbroken package and no safety seal on pump itself. Hope this helps. All my best-J

Do you need to fully depress the pump to get the product out or can you slowly press it and stop until you get what you need?

4/2021 - nothing comes out until pump is fully depressed; I am wasting a TON of product. Will not buy pump again.

is it the same product in the pump vs the tubee?

I felt it was different. It took longer for my cold sore to disappear. The tube for me took 2 maybe 3 days. The pump took about a week. It was also a bit thin compared to the tube.
