Each bottle has a neoprene-like sheath that protects it from accidental bumps and drops. There are loop straps on the sheath and on the lid so you can carry them on your fingers - very helpful when carrying multiple bottles and other items. The mouth is wide so the bottles are easily cleanable without the nooks and crannies of a flip-type opening that bacteria can grow in. The bottles, without the sheaths, are dishwasher safe although the slanted prongs in most dishwashers make it difficult to set the bottles in the washer.

I bought these in the fall of 2016. My reasoning for purchasing them was to reduce the amount of plastic I use. The bottles themselves are glass and have held up very well. On the one that I dropped there is only a very small chip on the outside. I use them to carry water and coffee. They take a while to clean. They came with a plastic bottle cleaner that had a scrubber in the middle and a sponge on the bottom. After using the bottle cleaner for a few months the sponge ripped and fell off the brush. Not wanting to buy something to clean them out with, I took some cotton yarn, made a pom pom, and tied it to the bottom. It works just as well. There is a silicone ring that seats inside the lids. When washing them, I use a toothpick to get the rings out so I can wash them as well. If you don't take out the rings and wash them, I find they start to smell funky (and this is probably because I carry coffee in the bottles, not just water). Taking apart the lids is a bit time consuming. These bottles are not plastic free. The lids are entirely plastic with an outer stainless steel covering. After a few months of heavy use, the stainless steel coverings fell off the plastic lids. The lids still work just fine without their stainless steel coverings. When I bought these I thought the lids were mostly stainless steel, but it turns out they are mostly plastic. I am disappointed with this fact. All and all, these bottles work well. They have never leaked. I just wish they were plastic free.

They keep water cool all day at work. I can leave it in the car or anywhere and keeps it cold for hours.

These work well enough until the lids start to leak. I honestly don't understand why someone would want a string poking out of their lid, especially on a bottle whose lid isn't locked on. I purchased these because it was a good deal for a set of 6 glass bottles of this size. What I didn't expect is for the lids to start to fail so soon. The silicone seal isn't very good. It seals well enough, but definitely don't over or under-tighten. If you over-tighten the lids the silicone washer/seal will raise up and eventually it will want to fall out. Sure, you can put it back in place, which is what I do. However, when it does fall out you'll notice how thin it is and also how poorly cut it is (i.e. they aren't all real round and have a poor cut quality on the edges) which could contribute to them coming out so easily. Regardless, the bigger issue is the hole through the lid to accommodate the lanyard. There is a metal cap on the inside of the lid that covers the other side of the lanyard string. Well I recently had one of those "caps" come off and get stuck in the opening of the bottle. Once that cap comes out there will always be a possibility of the bottle leaking through the hole in the lid even with the lid tightened. That's now happening to 2 out of 6 of my bottles. Today I was afraid it was leaking all over everything in the bad that I had it stored in. Fortunately it didn't leak all over everything, but I can't just toss these bottles in a bag anymore because they WILL eventually leak. They are perfectly fine for storage in the refrigerator, but I wouldn't recommend them for use in a "to-go" application. Eventually I'll find lids from something else that fit them.

Very nice glasses. Got a new fridge that came with filtered water so we didn’t have to keep buying bottled water. Absolutely loving these glass water bottles so far! I’m actually pretty surprised at the few calling them “cheap.” Those must be those spoiled people that are used to spending 20-30 dollars for 1 glass cup because these are actually really nice! I feel like they are pretty good quality. The lid closes nice and secure. The grip is nice and it comes with a cute little cleaning device.

Update: I am upping my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Why? That loop on top makes all the difference. I have arthritis and tendon damage in my hands and this makes it hard to grasp items like these bottles that can be heavy when full. I often drop bottles and jars and cause breakage. The loop at the top prevents this and makes the bottles so easy to lift and carry. The loops seem soil resistant and strong. Excellent water bottle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just received these very quickly and in perfect condition. They hold slightly over two cups of fluid. The glass seems strong enough but not that much more than dollar store quality. The caps seem more like aluminum than stainless steel, very light and thin - so thin I thought it was silver coloured plastic. I can't get the loop on top over my wrist but can easily get four fingers into it. It's soft yet strong and won't cut into your hand when carrying. Because it is fabric, it may have to be washed frequently. The sleeves aren't thick but seem robust enough to prevent breakage if dropped, and have a convenient loop for pulling them on and off the glass. They remove easily. So far, even when I turn the bottle upside down and shake, there is no leakage at all. That said, the lids seem fairly flimsy and don't look like they will last too long. Hopefully they sell replacement lids. I haven't put these in the dishwasher yet, but will try with one bottle to see how it holds up and update if it does. Caution: These need to be thoroughly washed in hot soapy water before use. There is an awful smell of something like petroleum oil inside the bottle. The glass has been treated with it. I filled the bottles after washing to the top with warm water, added a teaspoon of basking soda to get the smell out of the lid and the smell was mostly gone. Bottom line: I am happy with these so far. Will update as time goes on to report on how the lids stand up with continual use.

The lids are not hygienic due to the strap and the hole in the lid where attached. A perfect spot for “stuff” to build up inside the lid.
