Montblanc John F Kennedy Special Edition Fountain Pen Medium Nib

Failed to order, but will say in review of pen, should be a fine writing instrument. I have the 75Th anniversary Montblanc and I am extremely pleased with the pen. They both are very similar in size, draw ink in the same way and I assume that they will perform nearly identical. Sadly I ordered in error and accordingly am seeking to return. I may well purchase in the future as I believe Montblanc produces and sell extremely fine writing instruments. Amazon has linked up with a find producer and I hope that relationship continues.

I have owned 9 mont blanc pens. Including the fountain pen. I loved the diameter and the feel of writing. Alas, it never gets used because of the nature of my job. Unfortunately, all but 2 were stolen by unscrupulous associates over the years. Still I loved each and every one. I can say that I only damaged one, in 1989 and I mauled it in and was surprised when a brand new replacement arrived in less than 30 days, no charge! I had dropped on on a stone floor. So I am surprised that I read a review in which the customer was informed that the damage was wear and tear.All of mine were of excellent quality.

The description did not include that this fine writing instrument was a "pump" or "well" fill only pen, and does not allow for cartridge use. Had this been in the description, I would not have purchased it. I must say that it is an absolutely gorgeous pieceof work. However, if you're a fine pen cartridge user, pass on to another model.

I have many pens, of all makes. This particular one has become my favorite! It writes smooth and clean. You can go wrong with this pen. It's AWESOME!!

Looks amazing and the nib writes well, but the cap will not fit on the pen base. Putting the top down and writing just with the body is a bit too short and changes the feel of the instrument in your hand. I.e. It changes the expected weight of the pen in your writing grip, and not for the better -- it feels unbalanced. For this kind of money, a design flaw was not what I expected out of Montblanc.Bottom line: It looks absolutely amazing over in its holder, but doesn't feel as well as it should in the hand. Shame.
