The Christmas Baby (Classic Board Books)

Beautiful images to tell a classic story
This was a perfect way to introduce the Christmas story to our young kiddos. The artwork is really pretty and the book is very engaging for little ones to see/hear you read aloud.

Good children’s Christmas story
Bought this for my 2 year old to introduce her to Christmas — without the Santa/Christmas gifts themes. It was certainly entertaining— I dramatized the story for her while reading and she was so excited to finally get to the page where baby Jesus was introduced. I especially love how the book was set up to introduce baby Jesus a little later. If you’re looking for pure theological accuracy, this isn’t the book for you but it is certainly a GREAT, fun way to introduce a toddler mind to the story of our Savior. The fine points of theology can come later. For now, she knows Christmas is about the coming of a baby called Jesus.

We have been reading it to him since he was a baby and my husband just said "I think that's my favorite of our christmas books for him"
We just pulled this out in preparation for my son's 3rd christmas. We have been reading it to him since he was a baby and my husband just said "I think that's my favorite of our christmas books for him". It is beautifully illustrated and the story is engaging enough to still interest him at almost 3 but not too complicated for him to be lost while conveying the story of christmas. It also ties in how jesus was a baby and they were a baby... it's just such a nice book.

This is by far my favorite Christmas book
This is by far my favorite Christmas book! A storybook about the true meaning of Christmas! If you want a Christmas story that kids will relate the birth of Jesus to the miracle of every babies birth, then this book is a winner. I love the illustrations, which are by the same illustrator as the Marley books. The illustrations are beautiful and look life like, I love how the animals are so excited and joyful. The story is wonderful "Have you heard?" "Have you heard!" "A baby is coming this very night!" My children look forward to this book and its wonderful meaning every Christmas!

My 2 year old likes the book because of the animals and nice illustrations. And it is good that it talks ...
I would give 5 stars if the book mentioned the name Jesus. My 2 year old likes the book because of the animals and nice illustrations. And it is good that it talks about Mary and Joseph and the shepherds and angels but I really like it when Jesus is mentioned by name in the story since He is the whole point...

This book is a sweet way to introduce small children to the Christmas story
This book is a sweet way to introduce small children to the Christmas story. I'm picky about kids' books and could find minor things to critique in the writing and pictures (like why don't we ever get to see the baby with Mary, or see her face at all after he's born?), but overall this is exactly what I hoped for as a way to help my toddler understand the religious meaning behind the holiday. I like that it is very clearly the Christmas story, but doesn't get bogged down in names and details — a Christian family can easily add that information as their child asks, and it makes the story universal enough that it's not uncomfortable to read in a family that includes diverse religious beliefs and backgrounds. My 2-year-old wanted to read it over and over.

Great introduction to the Christmas Story
I bought this book for my 2 year old as an introduction to the Christmas Story. I liked it because it opened the discussion of why we celebrate Christmas but kept it simple enough for my son to follow along. I also like how the book ends by tying the story to him with "all babies smile."

Morman Book
This book doesn’t totally align with a Protestant theology.
