03-24-2020I’ve had a similar alarm system that worked great but I left them out in the rain and they don’t work now. So I decided to try this design.I like the look of this design better and I really like the adjustable volume. They work great and the first day I used them, they alerted me to a 6 lb flathead (see picture).I took one star off because of the way it attaches to the pole. While it stays in place with the adjustable rubber strap, it will twist if you have a big fish pull on your line. I use an open face reel and when a big fish pulled the line, the alarm twisted on pole and the line came free of the alarm. I heard the alarm but then because the line came free from the twisting of the alarm on the pole, the alarm turned off. I’ve tried many different placements on the pole and they all do the same. Maybe this device is more designed for a baitcaster. Or maybe I can glue a rubber piece to the inside of the alarm so that it has a bit more friction between the plastic and the pole.

Ordered this item due to photos and description, which show that this alarm straps to the pole, and using a different style of alarm activation. Definitely did not get what I ordered. I will try these out, but for now I'm giving it a bum rating for being deceptive.

Good product
A handy device. Several suggestions for use.1. This particular alarm is better on a rod with a level wind reel. (bait caster)2. Keep the rod relatively parralel to the water surface otherwise the rod absorbs much of the energy of a strike before it is translated through the alarms mechanism..

Fantastic
I will say this. I took my dad on a camping trip and he seen the way I fish with them on my poles. He was impressed and wanted some for him. I would set my poles, put the bite alarm on and go back to camp and wait for the alarm... they are fantastic.

Product is a bit too sensitive.
Product was too sensitive and indicated strikes in moving water.Unfortunately I had to return it.

but they would be great for a standard size rod
Did not work with my small diameter ice fishing poles, but they would be great for a standard size rod. They are very loud alarms. Good that there is a volume control.

These are good for me because I wear hearing aids and can't hear fish bell.

One was broke
Low quality rod alarm. One of them point blank doesn't work at all. One other is temprimental and one of the 3 works well. Such a shame as if all 3 were working it would have been a fab purchase

Klein aber fein! Perfekt für mich, als kleiner Blind-fisch, wenn ich nachts angeln gehen möchte. Einfache Anbringung und Handhabung. Ist sein Geld auf jeden Fall wert und man kann damit nichts falsch machen.

Consigliatissimi
Tra i più economici sul mercato, fanno benissimo il loro lavoro. Li ho presi da novellino per il feeder fishing e per avvicinarmi al carp fishing e mi sono trovato davvero benissimo. Ora, forse per il carp è meglio puntare su qualcosa che abbia una centralina, soprattutto per la notte, ma per il feeder sono perfetti!
