good kid, m.A.A.d city is the major label debut from Kendrick Lamar on Top Dawg, Aftermath and Interscope Records. The concept album follows the story of Lamar's teenage experiences and gang lifestyle of his native Compton. It earned four Grammy nominations including Album of the Year, has been certified 3x platinum, and features the singles "Swimming Pools (Drank)," "Poetic Justice," and "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe." Review: Get it asap! - Amazing album, even better on vinyl, Now or Never is an absolute banger. My first copy had an bent corner, but the replacement process was fast and easy. Great customer service!!! Review: Kendricks best album - It’s like Quentin Tarantino movie with the pieces of the story out of order, but the message and the sentimental value still being there. Every line, lyric, is delivered with emphasis and conveys an emotion or drives the narrative forward. This story is the story of Kendrick Lamar, and what an inspiring story this is. The album is worth the purchase in my opinion.

GREAT ALBUM.... BUT...
Great album. Literally from start to finish. I love the fact that the album flows and you actually feel like your riding around in the van with Kendrick as he tells his story. Section.80 is great too, but GKMC is mos def a step up. Oh, now on to my "BUT..." SOME KEY POINTS: 1. "Poetic Justice" is NOT the best song in my opinion. I understand the whole "love" aspect with Sherane... BUT to be honest with you I could have done WITHOUT the Drake feature. Having me connected with the story he was telling up to this point it kind of made things uncomfortable. I felt like there was threesome going on. Awkward. (What is this? Marvin's room? What the hell is Drake doing here?) 2. The slew of BONUS tracks are awesome.. BUT I feel like the original 12 songs were plenty and the Bonus tracks were more than what I actually needed. Kinda like when you order a milkshake at a restaurant and they throw in a free ice cream cone. Nice come up, but you didn't actually need it. I could loop the original version--- no problem. Start to finish. Finish to Start. But I'd have to skip the bonus tracks on the deluxe version because it takes away from the story. (Not a CON of course... more music is more music.) 3. I just purchased the vinyl for $14.99 (not including shipping)and it immediately goes out of stock as soon as I refresh. (Maybe I copped the last one, ya bish.) THEN I come back a few hours later to check pricing/confirmation and it's changed to 19.98 (not including shipping) 'Sup with that?

A must have
Having bought this album on CD the year it was released, I wasn't very interesting in having it on vinyl. I said what the heck, though, when I saw it was for less than $20. If you're a fan of contemporary music, you know this album is a classic so my review isn't of that. I'm here to convince you to get it on vinyl. If you're just starting your collection, or if you're a vinyl aficionado, this is a great pressing to have. There aren't any booklets or inserts or lyrics or anything, but the pressing is quiet and punchy throughout. I had no audio issues whatsoever. It's a double vinyl with three-four tracks on each side. My only "complaint" is that the vinyl themselves aren't very thick. I know there's 10 year anniversary edition recently released. At the price that I see it, I'm sure the vinyl are heavier and there is probably more thought that went into the packaging of the whole thing. But, if like me, you don't see where it's necessary to spend almost $40 on that, then I highly recommend this.

One of the best of 2012
The rating sums up my feelings on the music pretty well; amazing album and everyone who loves hip-hop should own a copy. Enough has been said about its greatness already. I'm writing this review mostly about the vinyl pressing; which essentially is perfect, packaging and everything was well made and in flawless condition, if a bit barebones(no inserts or anything); but being nitpicky I do notice on the wax that some songs are really not mixed very well, something I never noticed with the digital copy I've been listening to since it came out. The song "Backseat Freestyle" especially; one of my favorites, has a severe lack of bass, and Kendrick's voice seems to be boosted up to the point that its almost grating on the ear. I know this isn't a fault of my system because other songs like "Money Trees" (right after it!) sound very rich in bass! Also the volume the tracks were mixed at kind of seems to fluctuate slightly from track to track, didn't notice that in my digital copy either. Not deal breaking by any means; still a spectacular album and; for me, something that just needs to be in the collection. Just a friendly warning to audiophiles out there.

Kendrick Lamar >
There may be a couple scratches bc it’s skipping at the start, but other than that it came in good condition

Hey there, so I got my hands on the Kendrick Lamar "good kid, m.A.A.d city" 2LP gatefold edition, and it's pretty darn cool, I must say. First off, the whole package looks really nice. The artwork on the gatefold cover is sweet and sets the vibe for what's inside. Sliding those vinyl records in is like entering a different zone, you know? And speaking of vinyl, the sound quality is top-notch. The music sounds clear and crisp, and it's like you're getting the full Kendrick Lamar experience right in your living room. One thing I really liked is that they included the lyrics. So as you're groovin' to the beats, you can follow along with Kendrick's words. It's a nice touch that adds to the whole listening experience. The album itself is like a journey through Kendrick's world, and this gatefold edition kinda amplifies that. It's like the visuals match the music and take you deeper into the story he's telling. If you're into Kendrick Lamar's music or just dig vinyl in general, I'd definitely recommend grabbing this edition of "good kid, m.A.A.d city." The art, the vinyl quality, and the overall vibe make it a solid addition to any collection. Pros: Nice gatefold design that matches the album's vibe Vinyl sounds great and is well pressed Cons: It would've been nice to have a booklet or poster but at this price. It's a pretty cool package overall. Bottom line? If you're a fan of Kendrick or just enjoy a good vinyl spin, this "good kid, m.A.A.d city" edition is worth checking out. It's like a little journey you can take in your own space. Disclaimer: This review is just my chill perspective on the product.
