All five seasons of the sci-fi television drama, co-created by J.J. Abrams, following a team investigating cases of strange phenomena that exist on the fringes of science. FBI agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) suspects a sinister presence behind bizarre and unexplained events and enlists the help of a scientist who has been in a mental institution for the last 17 years, Walter Bishop (John Noble), along with his son, Peter (Joshua Jackson). Together, they explore various cases which go beyond the realms of normal police work and soon begin to uncover a trail leading to a global corporation called Massive Dynamic. Review: The best Sci Fi series ever!!! - I've binge watched this series many times and it's always my go to Review: One of the best T. V - One of the best T.V. series J.J. Abrams ever created. The idea for the T.V. show FRINGE was based on some of J.J. Abrams favorite shows he loved to watch throughout his life. Such as The X-FILES, SLIDERS, The OUTER LIMITS, and many more. The BEST thing about FRINGE is throughout the full 5 season's of the show it will send you on a mind bending Thriller of twist & turns that will strike at the heart of science fiction fans. From seasons 1-5 not only will you touch base with true science fiction ideals it also touches base with scientific fact from everything from an autopsies two theories of alternate universes. One of the best shows if you get tired of Science Fiction that is water down for and unintelligent audience. The basis of this show argues and debates facts for more intelligent Syfy viewers. Every character from Walter Bishop, Peter Bishop, Olivia will have you falling in love with this epic TV series. And one of the all-time great Science Fiction actors Leonard Nimoy himself plays a part in quite a few of the episodes. Fringe the complete series on Blu-ray was definitely worth the investment. I own the DVD series when it first came out. And through desertcart got a great deal on the Blu-ray box set of Fringe. And I never realize that even in this TV series the quality and special effects and sound would approve 10 fold. It's definitely a step up from the DVD set. Even if you have seen Fringe before I recommend buying Fringe because in the special features there is a complete episode that had never aired on TV. desertcart provides the best deals to buy this in Blu-ray or DVD.

Get this, and prepare for a Fringe Binge
For those wondering: the US and Region Free (UK) versions of Fringe: The Complete Series are virtually identical. The only significant difference is the UK version's small red circle on the case, indicating the show's rating, and the lower price point. While not shown in the product description, it does in fact include all the special features listed in the US version. This ranges from Behind the Scenes looks at individual episodes, as well as Gag Reels. All of these help to add a deeper level of enjoyment to the show, by seeing the pride and care (and fun) the people making this show put into the work they did. Cast interviews are (almost) always insightful, and the ones featured here are phenomenal. We learn what each of the actors brought to the table, and how they interpreted the history of their characters into their personality (or personalities, in some cases). The show itself is a creature unlike any other: weaving together a fantastical tale of mad scientists, parallel universes, monsters and mayhem; while grounding it all in a plausible reality with character-driven stories that resonate on an emotional level in a way few other shows tend to. As stated above, the acting is top notch and only improves as the cast expands their roles throughout the series' run. You will miss these people once you've reached that final disc. If you love Fringe, this is a no-brainer. The entire series will be at your fingertips, each episode shines with the HD 1080p format, and the sound quality is top-notch. If you're just getting into Fringe, well... Heck, I say go for it. But, then, I was hooked from day one.

Best Sci-fi Series yet!
This is my favorite sci fi series to date, & I'm an avid science fiction fan. The first 3 seasons were just magical! I'll admit that season 4 & 5 were not quite as good as the first 3 but still very good & worth watching. I dread imagine the torture of not buying The Complete Series. "Ok, this is the last episode before bed", is the lie I kept telling myself. The Characters are magnetic & the story doesn't pull you in, it shoves you off a cliff of intrigue. Each episode has its own event/mystery & also adds on to the main storyline. Fringe blurs the line between science & science fiction. If you have even the slightest fascination with modern science of any or every category, you'll love how the events of "The Pattern" tug at your imagination, daring you to dive that much deeper into the rabbits whole. I typically recommend Blu ray over DVD but in this case it is particularly worth it. As you'll more than likely watch the entire series (nearly 100 hours) more than once it's well worth it. Considering the small difference in price do your eyes the favor of Blu ray.

Like the show? Blu-ray is the way to go. Licorice anyone?
If you are a fan of the 'Fringe' series owning this Blu-ray set is the best way to enjoy it. As much as I appreciate Amazon for allowing me to watch the show via my 'Prime' service free of charge, too often the quality of the image coming from my high-speed internet hook-up was in the realm of 720p and sometimes not even that good. Perhaps others have better luck with their downloading, but as good as that might be this Blu-ray set remains the best way to watch this series, in my opinion. With the improved imagery viewing the show for the second time on Blu-ray I picked up images that were missed from the Amazon download. The appearance of the 'observers' ( bald guys from the future ) is more apparent as they are seen exiting or entering scenes much like a walk-on cameo in movies. They move off the camera sometimes with a glance and a smirk. Other things are noticed: In season one about episode 15(?) a black van is used to transport something and when the door opens to expose the license plate it says '1R2D21'. Another: around episode 13 of the first season Olivia needs to clear her throat for some reason and her voice changed just for a few seconds into the same voice she uses when Bells 'soul magnets' take her over in a later episode. Only because the Blu-ray sound is so clear and clean would you catch this little "Easter egg' type plant. There are more instances like this but you get the drift: The writers, actors and directors were not above having some fun with this very successful series. Good writing, excellent production values and actors who never appear tired or vexed is the key to this being the quality show that it is. There's action, romance, humor in abundance and insights into scientific assertions and mechanics that, although mostly fantasy, pique one's interest. These elements make the show so entertaining that it stands up to viewing again and again. Bottom line: If you think the show is good after watching it via download from Amazon, the quality of the improved image and sound through Blu-ray makes the viewing, as Walter would say, 'a quantum leap better. Now get me some cotton candy: blue, not the pink'. Highly recommended.

Clearing Confusion of Menu Problems
First off I would like to say that I extremely love this show and have been wanting to own the show so that I can rewatch it on my own without all the ads through streaming sites. I, just like others hesitated in buying the Blu-ray complete series set upon reading some of the Amazon reviews about the menu problem, no main menu to choose episodes, it just plays straight threw all episodes or that when pausing it doesn’t playback to where you pause and just goes back to the FBI warning and features of the disk. But I decided do jump the gun and order this anyways because the price dropped down. I am glad I did because upon testing the first disk on the Blu-ray player I am not finding the problems to be an issue at all. I have included images to show you my explanation and of course review images of the boxset itself. I’ll start off with reviews of the boxset itself. My boxset has an obvious long scratch or cut on the side of the box as shown on second image. It is a light scratch that doesn’t show on other side. I see it as a minor appearance problem. Main importance is that the disks play smoothly. Second thing is a piece of plastic broke for season 5 disk case so the top hinge isn’t secure which you can see on third image. For a Blu-ray set that came out in 2013 and has probably been sitting in a warehouse for years, I’m not expecting pristine conditions. Although when expecting a brand new set you expect nothing to be broken of course. Now onto the actual review of the confusion of the menu problems. I am using a Panasonic Blu-ray player to test this out. I put the first disk in. It plays. I think I see what people are talking about with the menu option. After the warnings and features it doesn’t jump to menu screen and automatically plays the first episode. There is a menu screen as shown on the fourth image. But there’s no option to choose an episode to play there. The bright blue big names are the 4 episode titles for that disk. You can only play the extra stuff that comes with each episode shown on the image which is kind of lame to me. Usually you go to the main menu and it shows a list of the episodes and you can choose whichever one to play. It looks like the way to start the show from that menu screen is buy pressing on the ‘play episode’ button at the bottom. I figured out that there is an option to choose an episode you want to watch though! There’s a pop up menu that shows up if I press on the pop up menu button on the Blu-ray remote while an episode is running as shown on image five. As you can see I have option to play an episode I like. So what I am thinking as to why some people don’t seem to have option to choose episodes is because it is different for different Blu-ray players. Which leads me to my next comment. Some reviews said after pausing during a scene. It doesn’t resume where they pause at. The disk goes back to the beginning and plays the FBI warning and special features. I assume they mean it doesn’t have playback option. But look at what is shown at the very bottom of the back of the box set case in tiny words as shown on image six? “Playback experience will vary depending on player capabilities and performance.” So that may solve why some people are having playback issue or no way to choose an episode. This is one of those examples of “reading the fine print.” I do understand it would be difficult to do that in this case as there’s no images of the back of the box with this Amazon listing of the item. Hopefully my images here will help future buyers though! Last but not least I tested to see if playback works for me. I press the pause button during an episode, I didn’t press the stop button. Didn’t go to menu. I didn’t eject the disk out. I turned the Blu-ray player off and turned the television off like I would when taking a break from watching something on a disk. Then I turned everything back on and guess what I see? Resume play option shows up as shown with image seven. It goes straight to the scene I paused at. So if you want it to playback from the scene you paused at, do not press stop or eject the disk out. Just pause it and turn it off until next time you come back. It should stay paused unless there’s a time limit it resets back. That I’m not sure. Maybe that’s what’s happening to some people? Looks like it all works pretty solid for me. The issue some people are having is probably due to their Blu-ray capabilities and performance. There is menu option and episode selection but it all works differently for everyone depending on their Blu-ray player. I hope this review clears up any confusions or hesitations some may have with purchasing this set. I think it is highly worth it for fans of Fringe to own especially with all the extras you get!

A MUST HAVE!!!!!
While some viewers might loose interest due to the complex nature of this series, those who stay with it to the end are rewarded with an outstanding and highly imaginative story. So many of the Fringe story lines that at first appear to lead down the proverbial rabbit-hole, are, by the final season, all neatly woven together where everything is explained; we even learn who really was responsible for the events that Walter thinks were cause by him alone. What makes this series so compelling is the outstanding acting - especially that of John Noble. His portrayal of the "not-all-there" Walter Bishop and the alternate Walter is amazing to behold. Why he was never nominated for an Emmy I will never understand other than to say that for some shortsighted reason Hollywood has never given science fiction its due and has summarily dismissed any acting in that genre out-of-hand. In the final episode of season 5, there is a scene between Walter and Peter that is as poignant as any one might find in a reel of Oscar winning performances. There are so few programs on television that take the risk of telling a story so "out-of-the-box" - it is refreshing to see one make it all the way to the finish line and to do it so well. I highly recommend the entire series.

Best Sci-Fi show ive ever seen!
I remember couple years ago, the tv spots of Fringe, and they seemed intriguing and intresting, but i never got the show a chance, for the main reason that i hardly watch live tv. Then fast forward 5 years and i see this collection on sale, and it seemed a good deal, all seasons together so i got it. What i was missing! The show is really great, think of it a blend of X files, sliders and CSI, best things from those show linked together with a intriguing storyline. When i started watching it (like 6 months after i bought it) it started good, but second episode onwards had me hanging and watching it all night long (literally), Excellent characters. well written storyline, youll love it from start to finish. I dont give away plot details because i think is better to let the watcher discover it by itself. But trust me, you wont like it, YOULL LOVE IT! and at the end youll be wanting more.
