As others have reviewed, there is a piece on this umbrella that broke. However, it is an easy fix. The plastic part that slides that holds the umbrella up split. There is a screw at the elbow that can easily be removed. Get a piece of pvc that will fit over the plastic piece. It works great. I also contacted Best Choice regarding this issue and sent them a picture so they knew what piece I was talking about. They offered to refund it or replace IF I boxed and returned the umbrella. I didn't have the box anymore so I went back and forth arguing that I would return it when I received the replacement. I finally gave up, figured out how to fix it and then let them know I fixed it and never mind. Then I received a message saying that they will refund or replace and I didn't have to return the one that was broken. I now have 2 umbrellas!! My suggestion is to get a piece of PVC and put it over the plastic piece that holds up the umbrella BEFORE if breaks. It is easy. You will be happy. I do hope that Best Choice will change that piece in the future. Even if they don't fix the piece it is worth the money. Update received the replacement the part that broke on the first one was missing. They still say they cant send the part. The pvc does work but not as well without the part. Not sure i would buy from them again.

This is a really nice umbrella. It was easy to put together and the lights at night are great. The one thing you should know if that it will need to be bolted down or secured to the ground or it will fall over. Other than that, I highly recommend, especially for the price.

So yes, it's big, really big. If you haven't seen a 10 foot cantileivered umbrella before you have no idea. It's big. So if you have it in a deck like us, later in the day it doesn't shade anything. But during the day is great. It's vented so the wind didn't take it away. YOU NEED A BALLAST WEIGHT LIKE A SANDBAG AND THE WEIGHTED "PUCKS". Those are sold separately. Don't think you won't need them, you absolutely do need a ballast weight for this umbrella. Second, this isn't waterproof, it's a sun umbrella to give you shade not waterproof at all. You'll get dripped on. Lights are nicely done, with a solar panel on top and a 1.5v AA size NIMH battery for power storage. There's a switch to turn the lights on and off. That's all good. The rest of the construction is sturdy and it looks like anodized aluminum for the spars, molded PVC for the other bits, screws looks stainless. The umbrella material is a plastic or nylon canvas, fabric that's ok to be left outside. Though I'd take it in for the winter. FINALLY: I clearly got a re-pack, not a new unit so taking off one star for that. One of the metal pieces was missing but it wasn't necessary for us as the unit is free-standing. And lastly, our unit has a small stain on it. Not really noticable but still. I paid for a new product, I expected to receive a new product so another star dinged for those two items. I'm not returning it because it would be a possibility to take it apart and repack it for shipping, it's very big and bulky and I don't need the hassle of sending it back. But be warned.

The original order was delivered when expected. However was missing the Solar panel to power the lights. Upon contacting the seller they promptly tried to get me one through their distributer but where in unable. So instead they told me they would ship me a whole new one free of charge if I was willing to wait until July. I said of course I can wait. Well I have to say. July came and I recieved it very early on and it was fully intacted and operational. It was a bit of a rough start but I have to say I am a fully satisfied customer. I feel the seller went above and beyond to make this unfortunate accident right. Thank you very much. Would buy from again.
