Installing the Akebono ACT606A Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pads on my Lexus GX470 felt like upgrading from a battle cry to a perfectly timed whisper—quiet, confident, and totally in control. With all the extra off-road gear I’ve bolted on (sorry, not sorry), I needed something that could bring this noble beast to a smooth, composed halt—and Akebono absolutely delivered.First off, installing them was a breeze—everything fit like a glove, no fuss, no drama. And the value? Let’s just say my wallet didn’t wince, and neither did my ears once they were on. These pads are quiet, like ninja-level silent, even under stress. No screeches, no groans—just a serene stop every time.The modulated pedal feel is a standout—none of that harsh, on/off bite you get from more aggressive pads. These give you gentle, predictable control, like a butler calmly easing you to a stop with white gloves and a bow. And the low dust? Immaculate. My wheels are staying far cleaner than they have any right to.In short, Akebono gave my heavy, trail-ready Lexus the smooth, sophisticated stopping power it deserves. These are super quiet and great for normal use. I use these in the rear and use EBC green stuff in the front since I pull a camper. The ebc were squeaky in the rear and could have been I didn’t lubricate correctly. The front ebc are super quiet.

Installed on a 2016 4runner. Fits perfectly with no modifications needed. Anti-rattle shims are included so as all mounting clips. Very little brake-in period required and brake bite is very positive if not better than OEM. Can't say anything as far as longevity yet but so far I'm very satisfied. I paired this with Brembo 09.A334.21 Rotors.

After upgrading the brake system on our Toyota 4runner, the semi metallic pads that came with the kit started to squeak. A friend that owns a repair shop suggested using Ceramic pads. He told me they would not have any noise issues but, they do have slightly 'softer' stopping power than semi metallic pads. This is so slight that the typical driver most likely will not notice the difference. I've been repairing my own vehicles and motorcycles for many years and have occasionally had squeaking issues when replacing brake pads with the semi metallic type. I believe this is just a random occurrence depending on manufacturer. I had not used Ceramic pads prior to this so I wanted to see how they perform. I am very pleased. They are absolutely noise free and they have a very long wear life. Very happy with this product!
