Golden Boy Brand Fish Sauce, 24 Ounce Bottle

Bought this in the US before and it good, very tastety. Can’t bring into Ecuador without importers license. Amazon will ship but Ecuador customs will reject it without a importers license.

I make kimchi in decent sized batches so I use this as an affordable fish sauce that tastes good and I don't burn through it so fast like smaller bottles.

It's good. It tastes like fish sauce, but I ain't no fish sauce connoisseur. I use it in stir fry's, fried rice, thai curries, dipping sauces, etc. I've tried about 4 different brands and so far this is the best.

This is way better than the cheap stuff out there.

Golden Boy is perfect for cooked recipes that call for Thai fish sauce. Save your expensive Red Boat 40 for dipping sauces and salad dressings.

I use fish sauce every day and when I make kimchee. This is the best cheap sauce I could find. Three ingredients: fish, salt, a little sugar. I am very pleased. No more itty bitty expensive bottles of fish sauce!!!

It's foul. Now before you do as I did and read that, then think "oh silly Americans, they don't have an appreciation for the finer things," know that I grew up with fish sauce (namplah) in my house my whole life. I've always had the Tiparos brand in my home, and then when the US stopped importing them I switched to Mae Ploy, which has always been just as good. In the absence of those, I decided to give this brand a whirl. I wish I hadn't, it's not the fish sauce I know.When you add fish sauce to a recipe, it's pungent at first, then it mellows out to a savory delight and no one is any wiser that you used "the stuff that smells like butt" in their food. This Golden Boy stuff smells like something died and never mellows out. It made my whole dish smell like something died. I won't put it on my rice and I won't add it in my food, I have to replace it. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but this is foul.

I purchased this item from Amazon because I could not find it in a local market. To have purchased it in an Asian market, I would have had to drive over 55 miles one way. This is the product my Asian daughter in laws use and highly recommend. They cook Asian food all the time. As a novice Asian food cook, I think the products can make a meal better. That is the case with this product. It is the "real thing" according to my daughter in laws.
