I used to buy custom sized broadcloth-oxford button downs but they are extinct
After trying to find what I considered a standard wardrobe item at men's clothing retailers, I took a chance on ordering by mail. I guessed that I would be XL. I'm 6 feet 2 inches and 210 pounds. Back in the day, which has apparently gone forever, shirts were sold with chest, neck and inseam measurements. I wore an 18 neck. This short fits in all dimensions except the neck, which feels like a 17. This means I have to use the knot of my tie to conceal a failure to button the top button. I blame this on millennial pencilnecks. Men go to gyms, but they don't work on their necks.I want to add that these are not permanent pressed. The shirts sold in the 80's were permanent pressed. Maybe the chemical used to achieve that was hazardous, or maybe ironing boards are fun now.

Quality shirt. Not too blousy.
I'm 5'11" and hover around 175-180 lbs. so I'm a pretty average guy. I've been thin my whole life but now I'm in my 40's so if I don't watch it, my stomach will get bigger. I bought this shirt in slim-fit first. It was perfect but since these shirts are 100% cotton, I was concerned that after a couple washings, it would be too small (especially in the stomach area). I returned the slim-fit and bought this regular-fit (medium). For this review, I thought it would be helpful to compare the Amazon Essentials shirt to The Gap's regular oxford shirt. I've always liked the fit of Gap oxford shirts. Upon inspection, the weight and feel of the Amazon oxford cloth is exactly the same at the Gap's.I laid one of my old Gap shirts on top of this Amazon Essentials oxford. You can see from the pictures that the torso cut is exactly the same (about 21 inches pit-to-pit seam). I like that. I'm not a fat guy and I don't want a blousy shirt. This is neither too blousy nor too slim. Just right. The sleeves are perhaps 1/2 inch longer than the Gap shirt. Perhaps one negative is the tail. The Amazon Essentials tail is 1.5-2" longer than the Gap shirt. This makes the Amazon Essentials shirt a touch long for wearing untucked in my opinion. However, if you do tuck, a longer shirt stays tucked-in. So it depends how you want to wear it. I have a lady who does alterations. She'll charge $10 to shorten the tail if I wanted that. If I do have the Amazon shirt altered, it would still be a bargain. These are good quality shirts with a nice cut to them. I won't hesitate to buy them again. Highly recommended.

Great Quality - Great Price
I must admit, I was not expecting much when I ordered this shirt but I decided to give it a try. Boy was I surprised. I am 6'3" and 184 lbs. and the large fit perfect. I would guess the neck to be 16.5-17" and the sleeve length to be 34-35"". The cotton is moderate in weight (not thin and flimsy) and it is made in Vietnam (much better quality than Chinese products). I washed it in cold water and dried it on low heat. The result was minimal shrinkage with the collar holding its shape nicely and the body of the shirt had minor wrinkling. This is not a suit and tie dress shirt. It is a nicely fitting casual shirt that is perfect with jeans. I was impressed.

Too small, sizes vary wildy. Poor quality control
I ordered the white shirt and it fit perfectly, I loved it so I ordered the grey and blue SAME SIZE and they were very tight. The grey and the blue were slightly different sized from each other and they were the same size. I would not buy these shirts again and don't recommend them. You really don't know what your going to get.

Great quality for the price
I’ve never had shirts this great that cost so little. I’m truly impressed. The Oxford cotton is nice and sturdy and the finish is impressive. Don’t hesitate to buy this shirt.

The best value in possibly the best shirt on Amazon
I was totally out of long-sleeved shirts and set aside a hundred and a half to buy half a dozen from Amazon. I wish all six were as fit-worthy and comfortable as this Amazon-brand shirt. The shirt I ordered is sized "Regular" with a tag that says "L" (long) for a fit that's perfect--or as good if not better than the shirts (14.5" neck with 34" sleeves) that were becoming available only in pricey, custom-made editions. The other shirts that I ordered from Amazon--by Lands End, Port Authority, Sunnow--have a fit that's "OK" but not perfect, and the material of the first two brands has a satiny sheen that runs contrary to my idea of an all-purpose comfort shirt.Although I would normally resist a red&black checkered pattern (a Paul Bunyan shirt for Wisconsin deer-hunters?), this one is muted yet provokes favorable comments from family and friends. Moreover, the brief price reduction--bringing it down to $20--contributed to my regret that I hadn't ordered 4-5 more shirts identical to this one. (Instead i ordered a blue&black checkered Amazon shirt for $6 more--still a great value but not as seasonal and toasty yet light and beckoning as this red&black wardrobe star.

Very comfortable it not a bit big
I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable this shirt is. It really feels good and not too heavy. It does fit a bit big and hangs a little long if you like to keep it un-tucked. Tucked in it looks good a feels great. It does wrinkle pretty easily but i wear this with jeans so it does not have to be fully pressed all the time.

Perfect!
This shirt is so perfect. Nice and thick material, easy to iron, true to size, long enough in the arms and able to tuck in. It’s hard to find good quality button ups for my husband especially last minute for family photos. Can’t say enough good things about this product.

Brilliant value for money
I’m really happy with this Oxford shirt. It’s just as I like them, with soft but heavy material. It’s certainly a great casual (but not office) shirt. I’m a 42in chest and usually have to fluctuate between M and L in shirts. As this is a regular fit I went for M and it fits me perfectly.More importantly it is nearly half the price of my usual supplier whose high street outlets are closing this month.A great buy and brilliant value for money.

Love the shirt.
Liked, it is regular fit. It is a big baggy (relaxed fit) but I loved as it is fresh and isn't that serious fine cotton. It does bring the relax fit with outfits.More than casual, but not sporty.

A good fit and comfortable
Based on the size guide, I bough a large and it turned out to be a perfect fit for me. I'm not a fan of the current trend of "slim" fit shirts, so I liked that this was a nice casual fit. Out of the packet the material did not feel as soft as other Oxford shirts that I have had, so I put it in the wash before wearing. This did the trick, and it has come out nice and soft, and very comfortable to wear. I will be buying more, assuming that they get other colour options back in my size.

Fabulous quality!
Very surprised as the excellent quality of material, lovely soft thick feel to it. I used to buy my oxford shirts at a well know high street store but their quality has really gone downhill so i tried this and will be placing further orders for more. Will now also try more Amazon Essentials ranges.

Good quality; good fit; material excellent; delighted.
I bought it because I like white buttons on black shirts! It is a good product; heavy, sturdy material and with a bit of style. XL, my normal size, was a perfect fit. No problems whatsoever.
