I love this pedometer! My first one lasted 8 years. This time i ordered the purple one. ;-)

This item appears to be made of well-constructed material but it is very difficult operate.First off, the directions are in very small type making them difficult to read while trying to set-up the device and use it to its fullest potential. Next up - the pedometer does not slide out of the clip-on case in which it arrives, but must be popped out of that case by spreading the upper arms of the holder which are located near the control buttons.The display is fairly easy to read, but the control buttons are not.

This is so easy to use and set up. I have a deformity that makes my stride shorter than normal but this pedometer allows me to make that adjustment and I get an accurate reading in distance and number of steps. The only thing I didn’t like is the placement of the clip. Several times taking it off I’ve hit the reset button by mistake.

OK, so this isn't a fitbit that will synch with your mobile device, but it's also a lot less expensive than the fitbit and it's easy to type your details into a spreadsheet if you want a permanent record. I've used mine on hikes at least 4x a week since receiving it and it's working fine. You will have to fiddle with the stride length - my regular level ground stride isn't the same as when I'm picking my way down root-covered slopes. But if you walk a known distance on the terrain you usually cover, you can then adjust the stride for the particular trail(s) as needed. Timer and clock are accurate so far. I clip it to my camelback and it accurately registers steps in that position. Overall I'm very pleased with it! If you don't need high-tech, this should do everything you want it to.

The last pedometer I had kept falling off. This one stays put, is easy to read and helps me keep up my goal to reach at least 5,000 steps per day. With a sit-down job, I needed the extra incentive to get away from my desk. Thanks!

I started using one of these about 10 years ago and love them! They last a long time and batteries are easy to find and change. The reason I have purchased more than one, you ask? I lose them. Take them off or don't have them secured as I should. I just cannot go a day without knowing how many miles or step I have gone!!

I enjoyed the pedometer, though it kept falling off my pants, until about a month of use when it started beeping nonstop. I had to remove the battery to get it to stop. When I put it back in it wouldn’t start. So I figured it somehow burnt through the battery super fast. So I bought some more batteries and it worked for about a day and then started endlessly beeping again. But the screen went all haywire as well. I removed the battery again. When I put it back in it beeps once but the screen is messed up and none of the buttons work. Completely unusable. But now the return period is over. I spent so much time looking for the right pedometer but it looks like my choice ended up being wrong.
