Birds and cats are natural enemies. Just one tweet sound makes furry felines go crazy. That's why the folks at smart paw designed this birdie chase cat toy with a ball that chirps like bird as it's batted around the track. It's perfect for arousing those inner kitty instincts. It's also got feathers and a hidden ball trapped in the top for really curious and determined cats.

Awesome Toy for Kittens
A feral kitten (4 months old) adopted us. We needed something to keep him stimulated and occupied and entertained as he was isolated in a bedroom until we could take him to the vet to ensure he didn't have any contagious diseases our other cats could contract. The Smart Paw Sights & Sounds Birdie Chase toy is amazing! He absolutely loves it and will spend HOURS playing with it. It is noisy, but you get used to it. We just take it away at bedtime. The first day he had it, I gave it to him and watched him for a bit to ensure no pieces would come off or that it could endanger him in any way. The next day, I gave it to him unsupervised for a little bit at a time. Now, he plays with it unsupervised for hours with no problems. Great product!

FUN toy
Through Walmart.com I ordered THIS toy for my cats after they wore out the one they had. What I received from them was some other toy with catnip ~ a COMPLETELY different product that had the same UPC on it as this ~ I tried THREE times. SHAME ON ME for giving them so many chances but I kept thinking that Walmart would correct the problem. Once I saw it here, I ordered it right away. Unfortunately, it doesn't 'chirp' quite the same as the old one did and isn't used that much. My two cats like it, though and are happy with it.

Not what is pictured as advertised
This is not the product advertised. The SmaryPaw Sight & Sounds Birdie Chirps actually makes sounds and the ball lights up encouraging play integration and the one that I received is just a ball that rolls around. It makes no noise what's so ever. My cats had one of these for years and they absolutely played with it so much that it no longer makes the noise. I over paid for this based on the description that it was the same thing.... I was VERY DISAPPOINTED

doesn't last
I wanted to give this a 1 star because the ball literally lasted an hour and 15-20 minutes. My cat was obsessed with it for most of that time and now he won't play with it - so $13 for a useless toy that takes up space. I kind of want a refund honestly, but already pitched the cover/box. Good idea, but very low quality for a toy meant create noise to entice being played with. I have put a few mini balls that jingle in it because he likes to pick them out, but that defeats the purpose of a self play with toy.

Cat not too interested
It is a nice cat toy, and a good concept; but my six year old girl cat lost interest in this toy within one hour. We have tried several times to reintroduce this to her, but so far with no success. I will try again later. On the bright side, our 18 month old grandson has shown some interest in the toy .

An excellent product. A friend purchased it for her cats ...
An excellent product. A friend purchased it for her cats at a local Wal-Mart, but then they stopped carrying the product. Finally found one for my cat here on Amazon. The rolling outer ball tweets like a bird, and it seems to be the magic that my cat needs. He frequently can be heard playing with it during all hours of the day and night. Seems to break up the monotony and boredom of some days for him. He really digs it when I hit the floor and play with it with him. He's had it since he was around 6-months old and still likes it. My friend's cats do as well. Two years and running and they still can be heard playing with it in the background. Again, the bird tweeting sounds are the magic. Your cat(s) will love it!

Good, fun toy
I didn't think my younger cat would be very interested in this toy at first. But, once I showed him how it works and the noises it made, he has really enjoyed playing with it. Sometimes I hear him playing with it first thing in the morning before anyone gets up. And the bird noise is not annoying. It's no louder than chirping birds outside.

Muffle the noise and it's the perfect cat toy
My kitten LOVES this, but the chirping ball was way too loud for my human sensibilities. I put some duct tape over the speakers to muffle the noise, and I am much happier. The cat can still hear it, but it no longer drives me up the wall.
