This thing is the reason I was able to sleep on a plane for the first time in my life. I’ve tried everything but couldn’t ever get comfortable enough to fall asleep on a plane - until this thing. I don’t know if it will work for you but I am very happy with it.

this is pretty good. It holds your head up so that you can really sleep on the plane with the seat back all the way up. the only thing is that it starts getting uncomfortable and you have to wrap it around a few times before getting it right and ready to sleep. if you have long hair like I do, that is a bit of a hassle. but otherwise it does what I expected and was pleasantly surprised. it's not perfect but it's what I need for long flights.

I purchased this Trtl Neck Pillow to go with the Starkio footrest I purchased several months ago for my boss (who travels at least 3 days a week on flights that are a minimum of 2 hrs long) after a client recommended that he shoudl invest in a footrest hammock. The Starkio footrest has thick cushioning and is easy to install - it's greatly improved the comfort of his flights (especially when he flies Economy - he's not a large man by any means but the leg space is so cramped!). My boss has a bad back, so the long flights take a toll on him (plus he's on his feet for 5-8 hours once he lands and sometimes drives 1-2 hrs after landing if it's an overnight trip). The Starkio footrest has significantly improved how he feels and is able to move after his trips, but lately his schedule has forced him to take longer flights, often at night, which means he ends up sleeping on the flight...which means his neck gets sore. I found this Trtl Neck Pillow and suggested he give it a try since it is a decent price and we already got an excellent deal on the Starkio footrest. He has been on 3 trips where he's used the Neck Pillow in addition to the Footrest Hammock and we all have noticed a significant improvement to his mobility when he lands and his mood in general :) I asked him how the pillow is working and he said he really likes it and is glad we found two high quality items for good deals. He says it supports his head without feeling like he's in a neck brace and he's had no issues sleeping on the flights. I noticed several reviewers commented that it was too warm so I asked him specifically about that and he (a man who insists the office be at 68 degrees) had no issues with being overheated in it. My boss has already requested I purchase more for his assistants. The takeaway of this is: If you fly frequently or are about to embark on a long journey, buy the Trtl Neck Pillow and Starkio Footrest! They are high quality items at very affordable prices; simple to use; easy to pack (even if you are just taking a day trip, like my boss often does); have excellent cushioning and stability where you need it (for neck, feet, legs, and back); are easy to clean; and although I can only vouch that the Starkio Footrest has held up over months of regular use, the Trtl Neck Pillow seems like it will hold up over time too.

I wanted to love the Trtl Travel Pillow. really, I did. The promise of a scientifically engineered, ultra-supportive neck brace (sorry, “pillow”) that would finally allow me to sleep on a plane without waking up feeling like I lost a fight with the overhead bin was too good to pass up. Unfortunately, after several flights of dedicated testing, I can confidently say this: if you enjoy the sensation of being in a very mild, travel-sized guillotine, this is the product for you. The “Support” Dilemma The concept is clever. You wrap it around your neck, lean into the hidden support, and drift off into blissful, ergonomic slumber. The reality? The only way this thing provides any meaningful support is if you cinch it so tightly that you start questioning your blood flow situation. At optimal “support” level, I found myself teetering between “mildly uncomfortable” and “Is this what a giraffe feels like in a turtleneck?” If you loosen it even slightly, it becomes a $60 piece of fabric wrapped around your neck for no reason at all. And if you tighten it enough to actually hold your head up, congratulations! You now have a built-in pulse-checking device because your body will let you know very quickly when your carotid artery has had enough. In-Flight Performance My hope was to finally achieve that elusive, graceful plane nap. Instead, I spent most of my flight adjusting, readjusting, and questioning my life choices as my seat neighbor side-eyed my increasingly desperate attempts to make it work. The “lean and sleep” motion they advertise? More like “lean, start losing feeling in your jaw, panic, readjust, repeat.” The Verdict For those with an iron will, a tolerance for slight oxygen deprivation, and perhaps a slimmer neck than mine, this might work. For the rest of us? Save your money and go back to the classic awkward head-tilt-against-the-window method or invest in a real neck pillow. Or better yet, just accept that air travel is inherently uncomfortable and move on. Final Rating: 2/5 Stars – Points for innovation, deducted for it being a personal tourniquet for the worst possible location

I travel for work 10-12 weeks a year, about a quarter of which is international. Five-star reviews are rare for me. I reserve that rating for near perfect items. 4 stars IMO, is damn good. I have used the Trtl on at least 10 trips / 20+ flights. Travel - 4 stars (Very Good) The Trtl fits extremely well in any travel bag I'd imagine. I use a Timbuk2 Authority as my primary carry-on and the Trtl tucks in very nicely without taking up too much space. This makes it easy to stow your bag under the seat on planes, pillow included. Support - 3 Stars (Good) Support is where I started to have issues with the Trtl. This could be a result of my size and personal comfort preferences as well, so be advised. I am 5'9", 150lbs, and comfortably wear a 14.5 inch neck in dress shirts. I found that I had to wrap the Trtl fairly tight around my neck in order for the support to be effective. If I tried to loosen the wrap for more comfort, the brace would slide down my shoulder - which led me to have to try and "shrug" my shoulders to keep the brace pressed to my face. In this situation, the Trtl is neither supportive or comfortable. This may not be an issue for someone with broader shoulders or a thicker / more muscular build. For me, finding the sweet spot between feeling like I was in "traction" and "resting" on a pillow was difficult. Comfort - 2 Stars (Disappointing) FIRST ISSUE The struggles with support contribute to my rating for comfort. In achieving the "good" support, the Trtl became uncomfortable for me. Imagine pulling a turtle neck up high to the bottom of your ears and covering your chin. If you have no problem with that for however many hours you want to rest on the pillow - this shouldn't bother you. For me, this quickly led to me feeling hot / stuffy / and restricted. The material breathes well enough, but airplanes are stuffy and poorly vented in my experiences, which made using the Trtl feel like sleeping in bed with the covers pulled up over your face. SECOND ISSUE Using the Trtl while sitting tightly packed in economy wasn't fun. I'm a small guy, and the act of having to extend and wrap the Trtl around my neck, velcro it properly, and adjust it made me brush up against my fellow passengers. I found myself trying to couch over in my seat to put this on if I had people sitting next to me on a plane. No one next to you, no problem. Flying business or first class, no problem - though the pillows there are way better than the Trtl. Don't forget your own pillow case. THIRD ISSUE I like to wear wireless earbuds (Jabra Elite 65t). The Trtl interferes with the seating of the wireless earbud in my ear, either pressing it or tugging it out. This can happen with traditional travel pillows as well, but with those designs, you can push the pillow in slightly different positions to avoid this. I didn't have the same issue with over the ear headphones, but using them is not my preference. If you use Apple earbuds, this could be an issue. Overall - a good product, well built, and easy to travel with. Ultimately wasn't a good fit for me and my specific use case, but your mileage may vary. I hope this helps!

I received the Coral TRTL and am very happy with it. Yes, they should use a cooler fabric... but I am always cold on a plane so I don't image it will bother me too much.. The main thing I want people to know is that this device will hold your head almost completely straight up, with only possibly a 1/2" lean to the side. For those of us that did a lot of homework before buying, we watched tons of reviews and videos. Most people didn't wear it properly so as to support their neck. Most put the plastic device way back so their ear was even with the middle of the plastic device. This causes your head to droop severely to the side, which then made us wonder if it really even was worth buying Instead, you simply place the plastic end portion almost right at the corner of your mouth. This puts the bottom portion of the device at the highest part of your shoulder and thus keeps your head almost completely straight up. I'm serious that your head is only barely leaning an imperceptible 1/2" to the side. When worn correctly, you can't even tell that your head is leaning at all. Laughably, the blonde in the picture isn't wearing hers correctly as her head is leaning way too much to the side. She'll certainly have a sore neck when she arrives at her destination! Or, maybe she is very tall and has a long neck. I am 5'3" and have a normal slender neck. I think the larger or the shorter you are, the more straight it will hold your head. Most people, even tall ones, have a proportionate neck to shoulder height ratio. Unless you have an unusually long neck, then this should work for you. Again, for the people who said their heads were too heavy and that it allowed their heads to fall to the side.... they weren't wearing it right. I can wear it with the end piece closer to my ear than my mouth and it lets my head fall completely to the side......but that's not the way to wear it. I do love that it covers my mouth to hide my mouth from falling open. You will get a warm humid blowback as you breathe, unless you simply pull it loosely away from your mouth in a sort of cupping shape. That way your breath can dissipate instead of warming your entire face. Finally, you don't have to wrap the scarf tightly at all. I put mine on loosely and it's great. PS, the Coral color is a deeper color than in the pictures. Not as saturated and bright as one of TRTL's advertising pictures, but it is definitely a medium hued dusty coral. Not pink; not peach, but in between. Lucky for some, the gray one is on sale for $10 off right now. Wish I could have gotten that deal. The gray would be nice for men, or as a neutral color for women. I got coral because I will be using it on a summer trip. The red looks quite Christmas-y and Wintery so I didn't get that one. This puppy is perfect, except for the fleece material. Would be nice if each one came with a summer and a winter scarf to change out. Best small-footprint pillow device I've found. When folded, it's about 8" x 6" and 1" thick. It can easily be wrapped around a purse or luggage handle, or packed around in a bag. In the winter, you could literally just wear it around your neck as a scarf as you board the plane. The plastic inner device is not noticeable.))

2 stars because of the price. But other than that I can truly say I have never ever been able to sleep on a plane until I swallowed the ridiculous price and tried it: it worked 100% for me. For the first time ever (in 35yrs!!) I slept for about 3 hours on my transatlantic flight home and I also did not have the usual terrible neck cramp so this greatly reduced my jet lag! It is very adjustable (although takes some time to master), soft and worked well for me. Is it worth the price though? I think it's hugely overpriced for what it is: a shawl with plastic and some Velcro. I know there are some "alternatives" and I might just try one just to compare. Anyway: your mileage might vary!

I absolutely love my trtl Pillow. It’s super soft, durable, and provides real neck support — not just fluff like traditional U-shaped travel pillows. What makes this different is the structured internal support. It actually holds your head in place so you’re not bobbing forward while sleeping. I tend to fall forward or to the side on planes, and this keeps my neck supported. I can lean to one side and it holds my head comfortably without strain. Another unexpected bonus — it covers part of my mouth, which I actually love because I’m an open-mouth sleeper 😬. It makes me feel a little more comfortable and less exposed while sleeping on flights. The color is true to the photo. It’s supportive without being bulky and actually makes sleeping upright possible. Bottom line: Durable, soft, and genuinely effective. One of my favorite travel essentials.

ピンクのタートルを、東京→ロンドン(コペンハーゲン乗り換え)のために購入しました。全体的にとてもよかったです。 まず手触りがよく、薄手のフリースがとても肌に心地よかったです。 マジックテープもこだわっており、ギザギザな感じではなくよかったです。 適度にあたたかく、飛行機で寒くなりがちな人は特にいいと思います。 普通のネックピローよりも密着度がたかく、スカーフのような感覚でつけられました。 首の固定感ですが、自然な形で首をタートルに預けることができました。 ただ、私は身長が低いため首も短いのか、ちょっとプラスチックの部分が高めに感じました。 そのため最初は肩からずり落ちる感覚がありましたが、きつめにタートルを巻き直したら大丈夫でした。 普通の空気タイプのピローやビーズタイプに比べると、窮屈な感じが少なく、またなによりもち運びが簡単です。 折り畳むとハンドタオルくらいのサイズになります。いわゆる飛行機のります！みたいな感じも出ず、気にする人には良いのではないでしょうか。 また、フリース部分は取り外し可能なので、洗うのもOKです。
