Alcott Kong Terrain Retractable Dog Leash, Large, Black, 16' Long

We have 2 Staffordshire Bull Terriers [think pit bull but small and friendly] weighing around 50 and 70 pounds. We had leashes for them before but one was annoying me to use and the other was purchased for the 50 pound dog but we used it with the 70 pounder and it was making me a little uncomfortable not knowing if it was strong enough to hold him without it snapping or anything crazy like that. So we got these extra strong ones to hold them both and I'm much more confident in their ability to hold the dogs properly. They look great, feel great in the hand, they're big but don't take up too much room, 16' length is more than enough for when one wants to stop and sniff a bush and I can just keep going until they catch up. My biggest complaint is the locking feature. I always have had locks that push forward where this one pushes back and it feels a little odd. Takes some getting used to. Worth getting again and I recommend this one to anyone who has a big or med-big dog. Obviously if you have a chihuahua you don't need something like this.

I like this leash better than others I have had. Feels solid and is comfortable to hold. The lock is a little hard for me to reach with my thumb, but holds. I have liked most everything I have got from this company.

Great product. Had one we bought for our older dog. Could not find where we got it. But Amazon had it. Recommend for bigger stronger dogs. Very durable

Do yourself a favor and forget about getting any lease made by "Flexi". They are complete garbage, I went through 3 of them and 1 time the leash snapped near the ring and my dog ran out into the road. I emailed them pictures and everything...didnt give a a crap not even a response. Fast forward to finding this leash made my Kong and I figured it had to be strong as their toys are the only things my heavy chewer doesnt shred. Well it's been a month that I've had it, and it's already outlasted flexi by 2 weeks and is made so much better and so much stronger. For anyone who has a bigger, strong dog that likes to chase after any wildlife he may encounter, this is by far the leash for you!

I ordered this for my hard pulling boxer mix and really needed a better one. This a heavier duty one than my previous one. I am concerned with the web strap as it's already getting close to ripping near the collar clip. It also seems easier to flip on the retrack. Other than that this is a heavy duty unit but I'll have to keep an eye on the webbing.

We just took our 120lb, 3 year old lively St Bernard for a walk on the trails of Tyler State Park and she loved it! Willow does a great job of heeling but when I let her out the full 16' she enjoyed smelling things off the trail as well. When I needed to reel her in it was so easy to just walk to her and the Kong tape quickly slipped back into the handle. Locking it was a breeze when we encountered others on the trail and I was able to hold her securely without grabbing her collar. The Alcott Kong Ultimate Retractable Dog Leash, Extra Large, Grey, 16' Long exceeded our expectations!

I got it for my chew-everything husky baby. I love the quality on the construction and the leash retracts very smoothly. Also it’s a reflective tape, very nice color and I feel safe using this on my pup. Once you get used to it this is a very handy tool for daily walks. It gives lots of freedom and very confortable on hand. We had an M size, but baby is growing so fast that I had to get this on a larger size (L). It has a bigger handle, but is not uncomfortable. I would buy it again, even more with the good price that we got here. Oh and it arrived fast. Good one. Kong products for the win!

the worst kong product I have ever purchased, leash frayed 1/2 thru after 1 use, contacted customer service twice and no response, look elsewhere if you need a retractable leash., UPDATE: most of my frustration about this produst was about the companies failure to respond to my problem, well today I received a brand new leash in the mail, this negates the above review which would not have bben posted had someone communicated with me.

The product looked good in the beginning but after a month of usage I see the leash getting broken. My dog keeps chewing at it and it's now becoming torn . A product made for dogs should have been chew proof. I had thought this will last his lifetime but alas it hasn't survived even a month. Expected better from Kong.
