Sauder Pogo Toy Storage Chest Organizer, Kids Bookcase, Toy Box Bin for Bedroom, Living Room, in Soft White finish

I bought two of these in Soft White to replace some open-backed bookshelves from the local blue and yellow store. We had those old shelves since before we were married, and now that our daughter is 3, it was clear that they were really not working for our child's toy and book storage. It really became obvious when I saw the finished product after putting these Sauder units together. They look so sharp and classy, where the old shelves were sloppy and overstuffed. These shelves hold plenty of stuffed animals in the bins, and tons of books on each shelf and don't look like a hot mess toy explosion.They even have a place to hold a label if you have 2 kids and want to keep their toys separated. We have one in the play room and one in her bedroom. Our little one has a lot of stuffed animals and play kitchen stuff, but these shelves hold it all easily, without looking crowded. I put together each unit in about an hour while I streamed a tv show I was pretty interested in. So I wasn't paying 100% attention to building the unit during that hour. But the instructions were very easy to follow and I was able to easily put them together alone during my kid's nap, while my wife took a relaxing bath and ate bon bons (just kidding, she was cleaning the house). The most labor intensive part was putting the nails in on the back portion, and that's just because there were a lot of nails and not a lot of room for error. These units are made of "engineered wood," but they feel pretty solid and do not feel rickety at all, unlike some of those blue and yellow shelves, which are just as if not more expensive than this, and these are delivered to your door. I'm very happy with these units because they are sturdy, and the assembly process did not make me want to declare war on Sweden.

I absolutely love this chest. It is a replacement for a cheap tall chest that we had for about 3 years before it became totally unusable, and it just reinforces how good Sauder has become at making furniture that is sturdy and easy to put together. While my old chest required drilling new holes for door glides and moderate woodworking skills to make all the pieces fit together correctly, this chest goes together in a snap and is sturdy and aligned without any adjustments needing to be made by the consumer. This piece is also much heavier and sturdier than the other chest that I bought. While this makes it harder to move and topple, this also means that you absolutely NEED to anchor this furniture to the wall because it would cause serious injury if it falls over. I do not count this as a negative, however, since all tall chests should be anchored anyways. My one complaint with this chest is that it does not have mid-drawer supports to keep the bottom of the drawers from breaking or popping out. This has not been a problem yet, but I have had problems with other chests that do not have the extra strip of wood reinforcing the drawer bottoms. This is countered by not having any drawers at a level where a toddler can climb into the drawers. The bottom bin, which is great for shoes, socks, and other accessories, or as toy storage if you do not need more clothes storage, does create a natural climbing ledge, which, again, really means that this chest can not be safely left unsecured from the wall. It secured the first chest for 3 years, and it was easy to use the same strap, still anchored into the stud, for the second chest. While this may seem to encourage climbing the drawers, it actually allows the child to reach the stuff on top of the dresser without having to climb in drawers, which is nice as long as you have the chest secured to the wall. To be sure, this is not a piece of fine furniture, but it is also designed for children and very reasonably priced. For what you are paying the look, finish, and functionality of this chest are absolutely fantastic.

This went down to a GREAT price so I couldn't resist it. I was a little skeptical about ordering it due to a few of the reviews saying it arrived damaged. I know damage to a product during transit isn't necessarily the companies fault - but - mine arrived PERFECTLY. No dings, scratches, etc. The instructions were very easy to follow - all pieces were included and easily labeled for easy reference. I put this together in a little over an hour - and that's including trying to keep the baby away from it. I needed help just once when lifting it up. I only made one mistake and that was making sure the label holders were screwed on the correct way (make a note of that - if they are on upside down, the labels will fall out on the bottom, haha!). It's sturdy, it's beautiful! It's definitely white though - not sure why they label it soft white. It's a bright white, for sure. It holds quite a bit. I do wish they would include wall anchors in this though. My daughter loves to keep her baby dolls in this and we *try* to keep books on it ... however, our little Meatball baby loves to pull them off constantly. GREAT quality, would rate it 10 stars if I could.

I really like this piece but can only give it four stars because of the knob on the drawer, which split in half as my son-in-law, a professional home re-modeler, was applying it. It's not a big deal though: It's easy enough to pick one up from a local home improvement store; it is, however, enough to lower the rating. Now for the GOOD part: I'm using this piece for something other than a nightstand; I've placed it between the two occasional chairs in the media area and it's working beautifully! The roomy top allows for tea/coffee cups, snacks, jar candle, lamp, tissues, and (of course) phones. Storage room is anything but skimpy: I've loaded the bottom portion with books, DVD's, a basket, etc. The drawer glides on smooth tracks and is also roomy. It holds my TV remote, pencils, pens, highlighters, note paper and tablet, hand lotion, glasses, etc. and still can hold more. ASSEMBLING: I'm guessing it took my son-in-law roughly an hour or so to assemble this piece; I was making chili while he was tackling this task and wasn't paying attention to his start and finish times. FYI: The back of the piece is black, which may be a turn-off for some, but it works well for me because the base of the lamp that I chose for this piece is black. My son-in-law offered to paint the back of the stand for me, but I graciously declined his offer. It looks great as is! I'm very happy with both the quality, roominess, and the appearance of this stand. I definitely recommend it. BOTTOM LINE: Buy it.

This is an AMAZING dresser! It took all of three hours of me putting it together (a 33 week pregnant woman!), who during a bout of insomnia, caught up on some DVR'd shows while getting this together. The directions were really well written, and despite the unboxing process to be a bit tedious (it is HEAVY), it was a cinch to assemble. The only funny thing I noticed, was the back panels (literally, the ones that are on the back of the dresser) aren't clearly marked as to which way to put them. Mine ended up with the unfinished side in the front (only noticeable if you take out a drawer, or you look really well when the bottom toy storage is empty) but it's not a problem, whatsoever. It is HUGE! My four year old can open all of the drawers, but can only easily get things in and out of the bottom drawer. He would need a stepstool to reach the middle drawer, and I doubt he could reach the top. My six year old, on the other hand, can easily access the middle and bottom drawers, but would need help getting to the top. The drawers themselves are really deep, and can fit a LOT of clothing! That makes up for the unaccessability for my son, BUT when his first reaction to the storage at the bottom was, "Wook, Momma! A spot for my spaceships!" I think it's a win, as it can grow with him. The drawers were a bit finiky to mess with (as you have to adjust them after you're done assembling it) but, overall, I know we'll be buying another one of these for my daughter! Thanks Sauder for making such a cute and functional dresser! *Edited to add** Over a year later, STILL love this!! Haven't gotten the second for my daughter yet, but this thing has TAKEN some abuse and still looks and functions like it's brand new!!

I can’t say enough good things about this shelf/cubby organizer. I got these to replace a cabinet that had just my child’s books in them. I am a single parent and put the first one together in just over an hour. The instructions are very easy to understand & everything fit together the way it was supposed to. It took less time to put the 2nd one together since I remembered the steps from the first one. The neat thing with this book shelf/cubby organizer is if I wanted to put my child’s stuffed animals in a net to hang along her wall then the cubby can be used for additional books. Plus, the top part holds things as a shelf too. I’m extremely happy with the product, it’s super sturdy & holds lots of things. I read the product reviews before purchasing and a lot of the negative reviews sound like an error on the customer side in regards to assembly. Like screws we’re screwed in to tight and stripped. As long as you tighten the screws just enough, it’s fine. The directions to put the cubby part together says it requires the wood glue but the wooden bolts go in and stay in so tight that I didn’t even use the wood glue. There wasn’t a need. If the hinges are screwed in correctly then you won’t have gaps. You just have to be mechanically inclined enough to understand how to put this together. My child loves her shelf and the ease of being able to get her books & stuffed animals. Well worth the price.

I am usually pretty happy with everything I get from Amazon and rarely write reviews. I had to post a review on this. I ordered the first one and it arrived in excellent shape, my husband put it together pretty quickly, looks great and will hold a ton of stuff. We ordered another one a couple weeks later to add more storage space and I was so sad that the top part arrived cracked and chipped. I was thinking how on earth am I ever going to ship this 80#+ beast back to amazon etc etc? I had a thought of calling the manufacturer, Sauder. The 800 # is printed on the instruction booklet. I called them at like 8pm and was directed to go to thier website. People-literally about 5 mouse clicks resulted in Sauder mailing me FREE of charge, Free of hassle a replacement for the top portion that was cracked. I completed the online request on Wed and got confirmation that it had shipped today. I am so impressed with the simplicity of the requesting and receiving the replacement piece I just can't get over it. Nothing is that simple. But this was. So my new replacement piece will arrive in a couple days, and i'll be able to put it together no worries. So just know if you order from here, and your piece happens to be cracked, you can get a replacement piece for free and in short order from Sauder. The thing was packaged very well and our first one arrived w/o a mark! Anyway, just wanted to share--super cute storage piece, looks great, and the customer service from Sauder knocked my socks off!

**6 Year Update**!!! We’ve had this piece in our daughters bedroom for 6 years now. Surprised (but not too surprised!!) to see it’s still available for sale. That’s a long time for one product to be available for sale. What typically happens with these Amazon product listings is there will be a few too many negative reviews and the seller will delete the listing and create a new one. That has not happened with this toy organizer/bookshelf. And I know why! It’s awesome. The top two compartments are for book storage and are the perfect depth/height for all of my daughters books. From board books to big books of children’s stories to chapter books. The bottom storage is for toys. We have tried to do one compartment for stuffEd animals and one for toys. It has worked out brilliantly. Stating the obvious. This is particleboard with veneer attached. This is not solid hardwood that your grandfather built. However, we moved last year and it survived the move completely intact and very solid. Unlike many of our IKEA pieces of furniture that literally fell apart and had to be thrown out. You can trust that this piece of furniture will last several years and at least one move. We are fans!

Its a nice product. Strong. Sturdy. Takes about 60 to 90 minutes to assemble. Perfect for the kids room. Surprising lots of storage space. Only thing i dont like about it is that you cant get a broom or mop or swiffer under it to clean the floor. Oh well. Just have to move it every time.
