L'Oréal Technique HiColor Browns & Blondes Permanent Hair Color - Lifts Dark Hair in One Step, No Brassiness, Rich, Smooth Creme Formula, Intense, Long-Lasting Color

So I have used three colors of this dye and the magenta is beautiful and vibrant and almost Impossible to get out of your hair. I tried to cover the red with a blonde (honey) hi lift and it made my roots a beautiful shade of blonde but did nothing to the hi lift magenta that I had been dying it for approximately six to nine months. Last night I tried to use the soft brown hi lift and it made the bright red magenta a hair darker. That’s it. I have natural chocolate brown hair so it’s great to find a dye that can change that to some lighter colors. But maaaaaan! The magenta clings to your hair like no tomorrow. It’s a beautiful color but almost as hard to change as when you dye your hair blue!

I love this color! It’s so pretty and natural looking. I have dark, African American hair and I try to avoid using bleach. I was able to lift my hair color without bleach and achieve a beautiful copper brown without any damage. I’ve used this brand before with other colors and had similar results. I highly recommend if you want a less damaging way to lift your hair color without bleach.

Best Red Hair dye I've ever used. It comes with a slight bleach in it. My hair is pitch black and it took me some trial and error with a LOT of products to get it right. On the parts of my hair where I experimented, they didn't dye as easily, but the virgin came out blood red, especially when mixed with a bit of red! It's good I bought 4 because the next day, I used the other two to redye some of the darker spots and make it all even. It really does look like a salon-quality! When the dye comes out, my hair looks brown or a bit coppery, but it doesn't bother me at all. Brown is nice. Red is a hard color to keep up with, so dying the hair every two months (maximum) is best. Every month minimum is good. As a touch up, using this product on the roots and another red dye probably from manic panic on the already dyed hair will help keep the hair healthy. It's not good to continually bleach one's hair. If you don't want a POWERFUL and STRONG bright magenta and red to be showing, you can use the other L'oreal Excel Hicolor red or magenta that is NOT hilights. The hilights branch come out brighter and stronger. I didn't know this from the beginning and mixed the two products, wondering why my black hair didn't turn red! Contrarily, you can also use a 20 developer with this hilights Magenta and it would come out very nicely but not as strong as with a 30 developer. Oh and as a last advice, to prevent any bleaching damage, organic/virgin cocoanut oil can be applied to the hair graciously as least an hour ahead of dying. This helps your hair to dye easier and prevents damage. My hair is actually softer than before I dyed it because I used it! I hope this review helps. :D

Been buying and using L’Oréal Hicolor for over 12 years. This is not a box set, you will need to have your own developer and know to mix and apply for you to get the results you want. Will not work well in hair that already has color deposited into it! Beautiful chocolate brown with red tones. I use this product then a semi permanent color after for the copper/red effect that I like. For those saying this isn’t bleach— if it lightens the hair it’s a form of bleach. Keep moisturizing!

This product only lifted my new growing hair my roots. The color is auburn. This product does not work on dyed hair only on virgin hair. It didn’t even color my grays. I also used 20 volume developer so disappointed. It doesn’t even deserve a star.

I really liked this brown hair dye! The color came out pretty and rich, and it gave my hair a nice, even tone. It was easy to apply and didn’t leave my hair feeling too dry afterward. I’m giving it 4 stars because I wish the color lighter, but overall I’m happy with the results and would definitely use it again!

Super produit que j'utilise pour refaire mes racines, ayant les cheveux rouges et étant brune cela m'évite de devoir refaire une décoloration à chaque fois que mes racines repoussent. Belle couleur bien rouge, j'ai les cheveux rouge depuis plus de dix ans et je n'ai pas refait une seule décoloration depuis que j'utilise cette gamme de coloration qui pigmente très bien et éclaircit le cheveux en même temps qu'elle le teint. Petite système D que j'ai trouvé à force de tester des centaines de colorations, j'économise beaucoup de temps et d'argent, une couleur tous les 2/3mois pour les racines avec ce produit et de la crème oxydante (même avec de la 20Vol ça décolore nickel) et sinon je refais la couleur sur les longueur tous les mois et demi avec des couleurs/soins comme le MULATO, la riche direction, special effect dilués avec de l'après shampoing c'est tip top et vos cheveux seront beaucoup poins abimés que si vous faisiez des couleurs traditionnelles à l’ammoniaque ou des décolos tous les deux mois.

I used this with 30 developer as recommended on dark brown virgin hair and it did nothing. Waste of money.

I left the color on my hair for 30 mins and honestly it just slightly lifted my hair color. Since my natural color is black, unless I come out on the sun, I can see a bit of brown on my hair.
