Pennington One Step Complete Tall Fescue 5lb. Grass Seed + Mulch + Fertilizer for Patch Repair

This is an All-In-One for patching bald spots in your yard. It has grass seed, fertilizer, and mulch in the bag. Because of this, some settling of the grass seeds tends to occur. Turning the bag upside down a few times before opening it helped mix it up.After pulling all the weeds, dandelions, and all non-grass from my little 10'x10' yard, I spread out the product on the bald spots, and then watered them. I was a little disappointed with how much coverage I got, thinking the 5 lb bag would go further. I watered 1st thing the next morning and manually de-clumped some of the mulch, spreading it for more even coverage. I kept up with the watering directions over the next 2 weeks but we received so much rain, I barely had to water at all before the grass started sprouting. All the treated spots started to grow and are now thick and lush, making the original grass look subpar! I purchased a 5 lb bag first and then a 10 lb bag after discovering how little the 5 pounder covered. The 10 lb, 2nd batch sprouted within 10 days again (says something about the consistency of their product) and is also thriving despite poor sunlight.4 stars for Value because it seems like there is a LOT of mulch compared to the seeds. However, this stuff worked REALLY well for me, so I'd have given them 4.5 if possible. Also, 4 stars for easy to spread. I think the manual de-clumping of the mulch helped blend the types of grass, evened out the coverage, and sped things up a smidge.I'll just keep ordering this stuff until it stops working or my yard is free from bald spots!

Just watered a few minutes twice per day, grew faster than any other grass seed I have tried.

It grows very well and it looks good. Like all seed however it does require care. If you don't let the seeds get dry for 10 days it's going to grow

I already applied this 3x thinking that the previous ones might have been wiped out for whatever reason. But for the 3rd time, grass is not growing on bald spots where i applied this. So this product is a waste of money for me :(

Spread over a 15 sq ft area watered following the directions. It was in the 70s when I planned it and it remains dead temperature for about three days, and then it got cold and has been relatively cold for Southern California for the last three weeks. Not sure if it’s the grass seed that didn’t work or if I just planted at the wrong time. Going to try it again when the weather changes

I wasnt sure this product was going to work but it worked great. I had allot of dead patches in front lawn. I followed the instructions it recommends and grass grew fast and in time it said. Just an FYI it comes out dark green. Will continue to order this product if or when my grass dies in patches.

Forgot to take a before picture to show the entire area that was completely bare, but you can see some of it in the picture of my dog taken 4/23/22. Thanks to 3 boxers it’s been bare for a while, and got worse after 4/23. I finally purchased this 5/5/22, and the picture with grass is 5/31/22. Still have a few small bare spots, but that’s either human error, the near tornado winds the day after we put seeds down, or both, so I just purchased another bag. This worked so much faster than I expected, we’re in NC & our ground is hard & clay like. 3rd pic is 7/20/22 & 7/30/22 my dog has worked against the seeds to maintain a small patch of dirt to lay in..

I found this product to be an easy way to grow grass if you need to fill in small areas. I think it’s too expensive to use for large areas. I put it down and made sure to water it twice a day and within a week grass started to grow
