Moon Montana, Wyoming & Idaho Camping (Moon Outdoors)

It is deceptive to have the title as "Montana, Idaho and Wyoming." This book only covers the western part of Montana, northern Idaho and western Wyoming.

I've had the WA State one for years and I update to newest one every couple of years. We use it quite often. We decided that we would try camping in ID so purchased this one. Great info on all campgrounds.

This is a great guide for camping in our area. Although it doesn't list all of the campgrounds, the explanations are very clear for the ones that are listed and it has been very helpful when we go to an area we are not familiar with. We keep it on hand first in the house, and then in the camper as we plan weekend trips. I liked it so well I purchased a second one as a gift for friends.

It says “good” for an old one, it’s true !We will see if it is valuable on the road ;)

I bought this book hoping to discover more places in Idaho. Unfortunately it cuts off half of Idaho and doesn’t cover the one area we camp at most which is Riggins and Pine Hurst. The book covers most of Yellow Stone.

Just OK. Little real opinion given on campgrounds. We are tent campers and the campgrounds they recommended around Stanley, Idaho were crowded and near roads.

I've used Moon guides to CA and Pacific Northwest. Those are excellent and thorough guides to camping in the West.Becky's guide does not include any campgrounds south of I-84 or along the highway 95 corridor in Idaho. Also, the information on some of the campgrounds that we have stayed in and that are included in the guide are inaccurate .. number of sites or their quality. Of course, things change .. but, a guide book author should be responsible for keeping them more accurate and include better coverage.I have not used the guide in Montana or Wyoming .. perhaps that where it's forte resides.If I had seen the limited coverage map at the beginning of the book, I would not have purchased it.

Very helpful in planning our retirement trips..

I should start by saying that we love the moon camping books. My only issue with this volume is that we purchased because it said it included Idaho camping but in fact it only includes parts of Idaho not all of it. So, if you are in need of the entire state of Idaho it may not be the one for you.

Probably one of the best camping information books out there. It will be no doubt quite valuable in planning our late spring trip.
