better than expected
For years (and years) we've used a few old diapers as handy wiping cloths around the house. But they've become worn and stained. So I ordered a dozen new, birdseye diapers.Plusses: compared to the old diapers, which had plain woven selvage on two edges with the other edges cut with the zig zag of pinking shears -- these new diapers are nicely hemmed on all four edges. The diapers seem to be well made. While the fabric is not particularly heavy (Its loose weave is intended to be more absorbent), the quality of the threads and thickness appears to offer the potential for long wear.Modest downside: The new diapers are "rougher" than the 40+ year-old diapers that have been washed hundreds of times. This was a bit of a surprise ... but it makes sense that a few washings will be necessary for the roughness to go away. (Note, if intended for use on a baby, I don't think these are so rough that it would cause discomfort on a baby's sensitive skin). If, after another 30 or 40 years, I need some more diapers, I'll certainly give consideration to re-ordering these.

Would Be Better Described as Fine Dinning Napkins
These diapers are not what we would really call diapers. Instead my wife referred to them as material that you would get at a restaurant as a table napkin. If you are looking for something soft and thick like cloth diapers used by mothers in the 60s and 70s of old, this is not the item you are looking at. These are very thin and the cloth is not very soft, basically like my wife said to me, they would made good fine dinning cloth napkins.I'm still looking for the thick cloth diapers of older years. If you come across any let me know where as the cloth diapers work great in the shop for restorations.

Great product
Very soft and absorbent! Perfect burp and drool cloths. And, parent to parent: for a fun look, consider doing a tie dye look (after they have been washed a few times)! That hides stains!

Soft but not very absorbent.
I purchased these to use as cleaning cloths and they are perfect. Nice and soft for dusting or cleaning windows. They might not be absorbent enough to use for baby diapers though. 49 years ago (the year my oldest child was born) the product was so much better!

Thinner than expected
I ordered these cloth diapers for a friend who is expecting. The fabric is thinner than I expected. All in all the diapers are not too bad, but doubling up is going to be a must. The quality is acceptable but I wouldn't call it excellent. Much more affordable, however, than the new snap-on diapers that have become popular in recent years.

Birdseye weave best ever!
I bought these for a young friend who is expecting. She wants to use cloth diapers like her mother used. We couldn't find these anywhere.....except on Amazon!
