I have referred to it when a problem occurs and have found it helpful.

Dr. Koops Self-Care Advisor book has been in our family for at least 25 years and has helped us through many questions and answers concerning our health. We are now giving it to children and grandchildren. It may be an older book, but his advise still is relevant and helpful. We love it.

I greatly respect Dr. Koop's career in public medicine. I felt that he was genuine!!! This guide is extremely helpful in explanation,easy to use, very well organized. I keep it on hand for emergencies, as well as everyday explanation of terms, diagnosis, remedies.

Even though this book was published years ago, most of the information still applies.Easy and simple to understand and very informative.

My mom bought this book for all my sisters and I when it came out. This was a replacement copy. It is very easy to use and has explained many diagnoses to use in layman terms.

For the lay person it is a good book to read up on simple explanations of symptoms one might have. Everybody should have it a a reference.

The first one I used so much it got destroyed. I got this just to replace that one. Great book, I highly recommend this one.

Dr. Koop's Self-Care Advisor is one of the essentials in our house. It isn't a new book, but most diseases and medical conditions aren't new problems. One of its strongest points is the clear organization of symptoms for a fairly speedy diagnosis. I can just pick up the book whenever one of us is sick, and within a couple of minutes I can usually rule out the scariest possibilities that have been running through my mind. Then the book gives very good, common sense advice about what to do and when to see a doctor. I have tried several different home medical references, but nothing comes close to this one for ease of use and true dependability.
