installed the Rough Country Cold Air Intake on my 2018 Ram 1500 SLT 5.7 Hemi and I’m seriously impressed! From unboxing to first drive, this upgrade exceeded my expectations. Installation was straightforward with clear instructions — I had it on in under an hour. Once on the road, the difference was noticeable right away. Throttle response is sharper, the engine sounds stronger without being obnoxious, and the truck feels more eager and capable at lower RPMs.Fit and finish are excellent. Everything lined up perfectly and looks great under the hood. I’ve felt smoother acceleration and a bit more power during towing and daily driving. The improved airflow seems to have really helped the engine breathe. Overall, this intake delivers real performance gains for a solid value. Highly recommend to any Ram owner looking to boost performance and add a clean, functional upgrade!

I’m no mechanic but I am god with my hands. This product took a little bit of time to connect into my truck, and I did have to hit the auto store to buy a fitting to make it work, but overall it was an easy install for me and I love the sound it gives me. It feels like it has a little more power and it’s giving me a couple more miles per gallon at least.

I’m loving the performance of this Cold air intake, but couldn’t rate a 5 stars due to the terrible instructions that came with it, and at least on my 2020 Ram 1500 Classic, the tube really could be about an inch or so longer. I found the instructions on Rough Country’s web site, which the better pics and print helped, but still could use more information in the last few steps.The tube was barely long enough to grip good with the clamps on the motor end. Several times the pipe would slip out while tightening the clamp. I was able to back up and loosen the flex piece on the intake, and get the pipe tight, and had to angle the connection on the intake to get everything right. Other than that, this system looks good and has made a performance improvement.

Fit great definitely feel the difference looks amazing i do wish it came with the screen to protect the filter from big debris but all in all its great

Like others have mentioned, my kit was missing a few parts (a bolt, nut, and one unusable clamp). When I contacted Rough Country, they advised me to just pick up replacements at a local hardware store—not exactly the level of customer service I was hoping for.Installation was tricky. The included instructions were printed in black and white and were so washed out they were nearly useless. I initially followed a third-party video, which led to poor fitment. Eventually, I found a much better PDF version of the instructions on RC’s website—definitely recommend starting there.One big issue was the vacuum hose routing. Their design causes the hose to kink unless you get creative. They include a 90-degree elbow to help, but there are no instructions on how to use it. I had to improvise with parts from the OEM intake and modify the provided hose to make everything fit properly. If you're not mechanically experienced, this install could be frustrating.That said, once installed, it sounds fantastic—deep and aggressive under throttle. I’m also hoping to see a small boost in fuel efficiency over time, though it’s too early to say for sure.The build quality is okay, but not quite up to the level of something like K&N. The clamps feel a bit cheap, and I wish the filter came pre-oiled. All in all, it’s a decent budget-friendly option, as long as you’re comfortable doing a bit of problem-solving during install.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This was purchased due to the affordable price and decent reviews. However, attempting to assemble it was terrible due to the lack of instructions. Also the intake does not fit over the air gap in the fender so it restricts incoming air as well as the pre-fab tubing angles are wrong causing additional struggles to mount it to the throttle body.

It was very easy to install the sound it makes is amazing it looks great on my 2012 ram cheap and affordable. Should get better gas mileage with this RC cold air intake

Practically the same performance as the K&N brand for about $200 bucks less and looks great very high quality

Was hesitant to buy and almost went with k&n air filter, due to the negative reviews on this one. Glad I went with rough country, way cheaper and more then good enough quality. I always like to align everything before tightening the clamps. I have a 2012 1500 and it fit perfect. I put a few washers behind the bolts of the big clamps just so it would get a bit tighter, clear instructions as well.

Pretty straight forward install. Took longer then expected assembling the housing but pretty simple anyone can do it. I have an 2011 Ram and had to cut the included air hose a couple times to make it fit properly. I ended up using a elbow fitting(included) on the air hose as mine was kinking when attaching to the intake assembly pipe. Didn’t come with enough washers for me to be comfortable with the housing assembly so I used my own. I was happy with the quality and appearance. Nice throaty sound when stepping on the gas. There was a slight improvement in gas mileage which was nice. You will probably end up burning more gas because you just want to tramp on the pedal all the time to hear the nice rumbling sound from the intake. What I did notice considerably was the performance, the throttle response and horse power was a great improvement. Lots of get up and go

I am very disappointed because I had high hopes for this product. First, u get an unoiled air filter which may not be a big deal to some but every quality air filter that I've ordered has been oiled and the end of the air filter is metal which is never a good sign because they always rust. Second the air-intake box had only been tack welded and the the paint job was atrocious not to mention areas were there wasn't even paint. The small hose clamps that came with it are very low quality, like the once that will rust in a week then fall off and the large hose clamps are also pretty week they don't come with a spring and one was already broken in the box. Also the rubber grommet that goes on to the intake pipe for the air sensor is way too small to properly fit onto the pipe. Like I said, I had high hopes for this product. rough county, you let me done.

People complained about this, which had me 50/50 on buying. I did anyway and it sounds boss. Especially opening it up on the highway. As long as it was installed tight, its beautiful.People also mentioned the holes dont line up on some parts. This is why you put the bolts in loosely, then tighten them all.
