FLX01-BRK Signature Field Strop, One Size

This is a great little strop. The strop is double sided, and it is loaded with two compounds. One side is 3000 grit, and the other side is 6000 grit. It is very well made with a nice size piece of leather on each side. I own a Delica 4 and a Cold Steel American Lawman, and I am sharpening them on a Spyderco Sharpmaker. After getting a decent edge on each knife capable of shaving hair, I stropped each knife on the darker 3000 grit side 10-15 times and immediately noticed a difference in the sharpness of each knife. I then ran each knife over the 6000 grit side, and was extremely impressed by the amount of difference it made in the sharpness of each knife. After going from hair shaving sharp on the fine stone from the sharpmaker, to each side of the strop, I am now able to shave the hair on my arm without being able to notice any resistance from the hair. Each knife easily push cuts phone book paper after this strop. To be honest I am blown away by the amount of difference this strop made. I was happy when my knives would shave hair after the sharpmaker, but this strop took them to a whole new level. I was not sure when I bought the strop if I also needed to run the knives over the ultra fine spyderco stones before stropping them, but I can say that jumping from the fine stones to the strop made them stupid sharp. I am sure eventually I will buy the UF stones just to see if it makes a difference, but I can not see how my knives could get much sharper. The best part of the whole purchase was that the strop arrived super early much to my joyful surprise. I would not hesitate to buy this strop again.

AMAZING! I own MANY quality knives (Spyderco Kershaw), and don't skimp on quality. I always shipped my knives back to the manufacturer to have them resharpened. That was a pain in the rear as their return time averaged 5 weeks, sometimes longer. So I started to learn to sharpen on a DMT siamond stone (extra fine since they just need a touch-up), I could get them to slice paper like a razor, but the blades would not shave the hair off my arm. So I shopped around for a strop to hopefully remedy that. It was so confusing as everyone on Amazon could not agree to which polishing rouge was which grit. Again, I just needed a fine grit to remove the tiny burrs left on the knife after sharpening.This strop took the guesswork out of all of that, and for under $20!!! Permanently impregnated with rouge on both sides, it's hard to make a mistake. The green is the fine side, the dark red is a little bit coarser. I barely use any pressure on the blade, strop both sides at the same angle as I sharpened the blade, do this maybe 7 strokes on each side and my knife is ready to be abused again.Do not even think about buying a more expensive strop, or try to figure out what color rouge to use (all made in China, so who knows). This thing is all you need. Specs are total length 8" leather strop work area 6.5". 1.5" wideIt is not made of the highest quality wood, but it doesn't need to be. It's not outside in the heat or rain, it's just sitting in a drawer waiting to be used. So still a 5 star review.

Such a small package of clear plastic you can see the whole thing, nothing is concealed. Yet if you use this package content you will get the biggest surprise of your life. Just a very few seconds or minutes with this strop will give you more satisfaction than hours with a stone. For my friend we are far better sharpeners than we are quitters. We regularly over sharpener our knives. You all have a dear old uncle or grandfather who sharpened their favorite knife away to almost nothing. My grandfather had such a knife turns out instead of whittling he sharpened the knife. The knife I inherited was less than two years old, he got at my uncles store. If he had had this strop I don't know what he would have done. This strop is all you need after a little work your knives will be scary sharp. You don't believe me just try it out.

I bought this in 2018. I'm just now writing a review. I still use it to this way. In fact. It's right beside me and I have been using it all week. I've had it a long time now and it's just as good as when I got it. Just keep it maintained just like you would your knife. Research how to clean your strop and reapply compound to it.

This is an excellent strop. It came with very little green compound but sharpened my carving knives and chisels crazy sharp with what little amount of green compound there was. The product itself is amazing I love it. I gave it five stars as it stands but I am giving it three stars because I ordered it on the Sat, 21st,-Two day shipping. I received it on Mon, 30th................................... and I have to purchase more compound sooner than I expected. I was going to do that anyways but I had thought that I might get to wait on that as it says preloaded. It is a perfect backpack strop outdoor, hunting, camping, fishing, strop. It fits in my EDC perfectly takes up very little space. It came with a nice tan 550 para cord lanyard, very very nice.Some advice. Get a nice hefty bag for it so it doesn't get scuffed up contaminate or lose it's compound.

Works much better than I anticipated. Initially, I wanted a large paddle, but purchased this based on the positive reviews. Honestly, in practice, I love the size of this strop. A very effective technique, for me, is to hold the blade still in one hand (especially larger blades and axes) and move the strop block with my dominant hand over the blade. I use sunlight to keep an eye on the edge while a polish and love watching it turn into a mirror-like finish (it's very satisfying). It does make my edges razor sharp; however, this strop is the last step after series of Chosera (400, 1000, 5000 grit) water-stones.

This works very well, the only problem I have with this is the thickness of the board. For backpack use the board could half as thick, if that makes since.
