I'm quite pleased with my pair of Zubits
I'm quite pleased with my pair of Zubits. They're surprisingly strong and work great. After using them for a few months, I have a couple of tips:1. If you're like me and are hesitant to cut your shoelaces but think tucking the excess laces into your shoes is less than comfortable, you can weave the excess down through the shoelace's loops and up again to braid them (as I did in the attached photos). I think it looks pretty good.2. One problem I have is that after I take my shoes off, they tend to slowly return to their normal shape, and that means that they naturally close, allowing the Zubits to snap together on their own without my feet in them. (It's possible that the braiding I did to my laces made this more common.) This is annoying because separating the Zubits with my hands takes significant effort. To deal with this, when I now take off my shoes, I place them next to each other and use a foot to nudge the inner Zubits toward each other until they snap together (see my second photo). Afterward, my shoes are magnetically connected to each other, I can easily slip my feet in without worrying about the Zubits shutting before I'm ready, and I can easily separate the inner Zubits by pulling my feet apart.

Dangerous, pops open sprinting
I've since had a mishap with Zubits that was rather unfortunate: a car ran a red light and I had to sprint out of the way. The Zubits popped open and one shoe flew off. The car fortunately decided not to hit me (weird situation -- he was completely stopped for a while and then chose to gun it through the red-light right at me -- glad he realized his error and stopped).I've since tried (planned) sprinting with the Zubits and they always pop open on sprint. They're great for walk, jog, run, hike, and they feel v.strong, but are absolutely dangerous for sprinting. This was a bit of an eye-opener and caused me to change my review to hopefully let folks know about it. I suspect sprinting by most folks will be for some urgent reason other than fun and thus snapping open during a sprint could have unfortunate consequences beyond an airborne shoe.BTW, I love the "magnets for lacing" concept. My issue above could easily be idiosyncratic -- due to my own biomechanics or style of shoe -- but I would caution anyone using them to actually try sprinting with them to make sure that if you need to do it, they'll stay together for you.-- original below: 3 star, titled "Works fine, but not for everyone"They're quite strong; you don't need to worry about them coming undone (performance version). They're so strong, I wouldn't let small kids use them. Tiny fingers could easily be painfully crushed (heavy tears, not hospital). Hopefully, the kid version isn't this strong. Setup isn't easy for athletic use. It took about an hour of lacing and relacing in various patterns before I found one that applied nice even pressure. Also, they're extremely difficult to adjust (tighter/looser) once they're in place. The included method for adjustment slips pretty easily. I had to use the extra unused hole far up my running shoes to provide a solid adjustment that doesn't slip.I'm probably going to remove them and go back to using bungee-cord style lace-locks again. The only advantage Zubits provide over the bungee style is that you can over-tighten your laces and still have quick entry/exit. If you don't like or need extra tight lacing, bungee is nicer.

These Work BETTER than Advertised If You Add this Trick
So I bought these and laced then up as instructed and the worked just as advertised. But if you want a tight fit, they are not that easy to close. Try this trick. In stead of just cross lacing the first set of hole as per instructions, run your lace in and out OF BOTH HOLES, then lace as normal. What this means is that each side will not open the whole way, the tips of both will stay close together. This is what you want. HERE IS HOW TO GET THEM ON AND OFF WITHOUT HAVING TO BEND OVER. Jam your foot as far into one as you can. Step on the back of shoe and flex your foot forward. This will cause the Zubit to snap open so you can wriggle the rest of your foot into the shoe. When your heel is in... THE ZUBIT SNAPS SHUT ON IT OWN.In short you never have to bend over to get you shoes on, and the will still fit comfortably tight. This trick works best with shoes that only have a few eyelets like loafers our lower tennis shoes. But I have rigged several pairs this way and the all work great. One last tip, if you tie the loose remaining ends of your shoes laces in a permanent loop, the shoes really look just like regular shoes. I have been wearing mine for a month and no one yet has even noticed my Zubits.FANTASTIC PRODUCT.

Love these!
My son has ADHD, ODD, and OCD. He has an obsessive fixation on tying his shoes ridiculously too tight over and over again. These little beauties have prevented this fixation! The weight of the magnets provide the same comfort as ridiculously tight shoe laces plus he isn't distracted at school by fixating on shoe laces. Love these!!

Powerful magnets
I choose the most powerful version, as I need size 12 shoes. So far, they have never come undone unless I want them to. However, they are so strong, then on shoes where the closings are quite close, they will close themselves. This means I have to separate them before I can put the shoes on, which is annoying. On another pair of shoes the closings are further apart and this is not a problem (although on these, when the shoes are placed next to each other, the zubits from each shoe can join together). I find twisting the zubits a means of separating them by hand. A lot of money to find out they may be too strong. They are useful for taking on and off safety shoes at work. One thing I wish could be improved is the lace end locking. I found the plastic clips weak and unsightly. Still experimenting with options. So far durable. Worth a try

Amazing!! perfect for converse shoes / sneakers
Edit 2020: Just to add, this review was first written by me about a year ago. I purchased the same in white and can’t recommend them enough. After lacing them into my new Shoes they will need adjusting after i have worn them in a bit more, but they hold just fine and keep the laces neat on the outside. You get 4 magnets (two per shoe) in the pack as well as some lace fasteners to stop the laces slipping.Review 2019:I recently purchased a pack of competitor lace system called Hickies.. they where crap and where far too long for shoes like sneakers or converseHowever the Zubits are MUCH better. After purchasing my first pair of converse high tops, i wanted these to help me get them on and off. They are super at keeping your laces tight and come apart as shown on the advertising videos perectly. I couldn't rate these more highly. I am a guy although it said womens magnetic shoe closures, I think they are perfect for my needs. Well worth the £20 paid, arrived in good time in protective packaging.

Expensive but will get the job done if not more
What zubits dont tell you if your trainer tounge is thick its a pain to join the magnets together.Had it been any other trainers i think it would be fine. I have tried this for about 30 minutes rigorously and it only came off once but i doubt i would do that in real life. I do like running so normal running wont affect it either. You see what i did to open when i did come off i sort of used the movement zubits reccomend while testing.Be warned not all the time the magnets come apart on the reccomended method of taking footware off. Be prepared to twist magnets to take off as they are very powerful.Just for your information the fake products out their i find some of them better as the magnet power is just right (not to powerful) and i am size 11 mens and they cost a lot less.

A perfect fit
These really are amazing! Bought for my father following his stroke he only has the use of one hand. Now he can choose any pair of shoes he likes and never needs to worry about laces again. This product has liberated my Dad and given him the independence and equality he desperately wanted. Incredibly strong and brilliant!!
