Beautiful boot--runs *slightly* big--very comfortable.
These boots are gorgeous! I'm thrilled with this purchase. The heel is comfortable--I thought it might be a little high, but the construction puts the actual height of one's foot closer to an inch, rather than the two inch height of the actual heel. The leather is beautiful-- a little stiff and will take some time to break in, but they feel sturdy. I ordered the dark brown, and the color is true to the image on Amazon.Calf is snug but stretched after a day of wearing. The footbed does run a little big. I wear a 7 or 7.5 depending on the shoe. The last time I ordered Frye boots, the 7 was too tight and never stretched as much as I needed. I stuck with the 7.5 and they are a little roomy, partly because of the fuller toe, but that allowed me to add an insert for a little more cushion.

Superb quality
I have always wanted a pair of Frye boots. I got them yesterday, wore them to work today, and these boots got noticed. I read the reviews, which was helpful deciding what size to order. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8. Because it was said they run a little large, I ordered the 7.5, and they are perfect, with a little room to spare. That is good, because the leather is quite sturdy, not much give, so you don't want them too small. Right out of the box, I found them to be very comfortable, all day. I don't think there is any chance of wearing them out, and they will only get better over time. Classic style that will never grow old. The boot shaft is narrow. Plenty of room for my calf, but can only wear over thin jeans, or leggings. Won't accommodate anything thicker than that. A woman with generous legs may want to look into another style. Overall, I love the boots.

Lovely leather, not my style
Not in love with these boots- the leather is very nice and the shoe fit is good. They're comfortable. But- they're a little more cowboy boot than I'd like. The calf is just too straight and hits at the widest point of my calf, making them look wider. I usually like my boot a bit tighter (to blend better with my actual leg to give an illusion of length) or a bit looser (to draw attention to the boot and to make my leg look smaller than the boot), but this boot sort of comes with built in cankles and hits at an unfortunate place on my calf, bringing attention to the widest spot on my calf . I'm 5"1, so perhaps this boot would work better on a taller person. Also, the stitching at the top of the boot is itchy and is probably going to leave a rug burn- so you have to wear boot socks with these- not a problem I've had with any of my other boots. The first few times I put them on/took them off was WORK. I did the plastic bag trick (google it- use a crinkly bag else you're pulling pieces of plastic out of your shoe all day), but they get easier to get on and off. They run large- I normally wear a 6.5, but like a larger shoe b/c my toes get claustrophobic (don't ask), and ordered a 6.5 and they fit well. In all, lovely boot- just not my style and a lil itchy at the top. I would

Love these boots
I'm so glad I bought these boots! After months of research, I finally decided on Frye Campus to replace my favorite (quickly dying) boots. They are classy enough to go well with both casual and dressed-up outfits, and sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about buying a new pair next year. These are my all-purpose boots: I wear them around town, as well as on-the-job as a photographer and web designer when meeting with clients. They are subtly western.Surprises:-The toe isn't as square as it looks in the photo, but I'm perfectly happy with the mostly-round toe.-If you buy Dark Brown Soft Vintage, the shade is a bit darker than what it appears in the photo, especially in the shaft of the boot. I bought DBSV, despite wanting a different shade, because it was on sale, so I was glad that it turned out to be a darker brown than it appears in the photo. You should know:-Out of the box, these boots are straight up-and-down, just as they appear in the photo. At first I felt like I was wearing rain boots, which I didn't like. But after a week or two of wear, the ankles began to settle and get the crumpled, worn look of western boots, which I love.-When you first try these on and walk around, the heel of the boot will drop to the ground before your foot does. You will get used to that--it's not a problem, it just feels like one at first.-Buy 1/2 a size down. My perfect size is 8.5, so I bought 8 and they fit perfectly.-Take care of your leather! Buy a conditioner and a high-quality weather proofing spray if you want these babies to last. Also be sure to have a cobbler fit a half-sole on the front of the boot and replace the heel rubber when it wears down.Hope this review helps.

Beautiful Leather Bottom Fryes
Beautiful boots, but remember you need to break them in slowly. Not recommended for wide feet. This is my 5th Frye, they are a beast to break in but it is worth it. They last a lifetime if you bring them to a cobbler frequently. I recommend having the cobbler put a rubber bottom on them if you live in Canada.

Perfect
Amazing and perfect! Great fit, very slightly narrower than a usual Frye but nothing to change your size over. Great mid calf height and the yellow really is striking! Absolutely love. Service and shipping was also fast and safe.

Bellissimi
