Not the right hook for Salmon for sure. Fish straightened it multiple times with ease. See photo. Sizing is off. They are larger than other vendors octopus hooks so be ready for that too. If you plan to use them for King or coho salmon then look for a different brand or buy the No. 6 quadruple strength if you could find them.

Best hook for river carp. I use a #2 or #4 and seldom have a fish come off. Once did a side-by-side comparison between these and another brand. With these I had two runs, and netted two fish. The other had two runs but no fish netted.

Gamakatsu circle hooks are made from thinner wire and will NOT withstand 20 lbs of pressure, they straighten.

I fish for bass, but only catch and release. These circle hooks are almost never "swallowed" by the fish and hook them near the lips, This makes it very easy to remove them and the fish is not harmed.

Been using these hooks for about a year now and they yet to disappoint! They come nice and sharp out the packaging, strong, and the different sizes are perfect to match whatever you go fish for. Give it a shot you don't be dissapointed.

Poor quality hook. Almost no barb and very thin. Size is closer to 6 then 4. Going to return.
