There's a little information on most different types of piranhas and a lot of general information for piranha care. The author also goes into detail of his own experiences with piranhas in their natural environment.

The new addition is by far the most accurate resource for someone interested in the various species of piranha. The pictures are amazing and the information is very accurate.

I have been exposed to Piranhas as pets for nearly 3 years. Two of my college roomates kept them and I found them to be excellent pets. When I endevoured into my own world of piranhas I found this book to be an extrememly helful tool in understanding the behavior and environment of the piranha. A must have for the beginer or an excellent addition for the more experienced.

This is a great book for anyone who owns, or is thinking of purchasing piranhas. The book is very informative and explains all you need to know about the fish. Fast delivery.

Für alle, die sich mit dieser Gruppe von Fischen intensiver befassen und mit der englischen Sprache zurechtkommen, ist dies sicherlich ein "Standardwerk", welches man unbedingt besitzen sollte. Von den Lebensräumen im Freiland über das Verhalten in der Natur und im Aquarium bis zu den Haltungs- und Zuchtbedingungen im Aquarium werden alle Aspekte abgedeckt. Auch über die Krankheiten und spezielle Medikamenten-Unverträglichkeiten bei der Behandlung finden sich wichtige Hinweise. Der umfassende Artenteil und Bilder von seltenen oder z.T. noch unbeschriebenen Arten runden das Werk ab. Das alles noch zu einem vergleichsweise günstigen Preis.........Absolut empfehlenswert!

Obwohl ich mich letztlich aufgrund des Platzmangels vorerst GEGEN eine Piranhahaltung entschieden habe, hat das Buch mir all meine Fragen zu dem Thema beantwortet. Es gibt detailliert Auskunft über die Bedürfnisse dieser faszinierenden Tiere, über die Haltungsbedingungen und die Verantwortung, die man damit übernimmt. Sehr empfehlenswert.
