Good product works great for shafing
This is a great product I learned from my friend who is a registered nurse she used it on her 103-year-old mother who was bed-ridden & she won't buy anything else she's 89.

Very low (2%) Zinc Oxide in product
I purchased this product after looking at a large variety of zinc oxide creams online here on Amazon. I was hoping it had at least 20% zinc oxide or better but it only has 2%. It also has listed as an active ingredient dimethicone at 2.1%. The other ingredients (inactive) are here from the label in the order they appear:Purified water USP, Cetyl Alcohol, Sorbitol USP, Glycerol Monostearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Lanolin USP, Methylparaben, Fragrance, Quatemium-15, Propylbaraben. It has a non-greasy consistency, is absorbed quickly into skin and has a very light, mild smell that, to me, is quite neutral and inoffensive. It leaves almost no residue on the skin, unlike other zinc oxide products (especially those with 40% zinc oxide that I have used before). The expiration date on this jar that arrived on October 2, 2012 is February 2015 - which is very good.I will use this cream to see how effective it is at heat rash treatment both for myself and for rash prevention on an elderly family member and I will report back later with a follow-up. I find it unfortunate that no where on the Selan+ website or Amazon or any other informational site I checked could I find the actual percentage of zinc oxide inside the product. Had I known it has only 2% I really doubt I would have bought this product and would have spent more to buy something with 40%. But I will test it and it's going to get quite a rigorous test with our current weather being what it is.So for everyone else that is deciding whether or not to order this product, note the 2% Zinc Oxide concentration and stay tuned to see if it works in my "intense heat rash" test. Also, I noticed there is an option to buy pure zinc oxide powder here on Amazon and in my searches I found several sites that offer advice and instructions on how to mix your own sunscreen and diaper rash / zinc oxide creams. Given the nice smell of this product and the amount (1 lb jar), it might work well mixing in more zinc oxide into the cream and increasing the % yourself at home. There are more ways to use products that are out there. Sometimes a good product can turn into an excellent product simply by using it in a creative way. Here is a link to one of those sites - "instructables", this link goes to a "how to make your own sunscreen" page but it has links within it to make other home-made DIY zinc oxide products.[...]Amazon seems to not like links to informative sites within the reviews. You will have to do a little editing to get the link correct. Otherwise, try searching for homemade sunscreen online and pay attention to the word "instructables". Click on that link and you should find the information I found. There are a lot of interesting healthy alternatives to what's out there but the most convenient thing to do is buy a product on Amazon and wait a few days until it arrives :)

works good
use for mother in law, it is a thick white color that stays on skin well but gets on potty seat and if it dries hard to get off but cleared up her bed sores great. Now use it as preventative at night and works great

Worked better than thicker barrier creams on sensitive skin areas
This cream worked wonders on elder person with significant rash/skin tears on bottom. Better than heavier/thicker barrier cream as it was not as difficult to remove to reapply with fresh cream. Healing occurred very quickly. Highly recommend.
