Frustrating even for an experienced gamer.
I've been playing table top games for over 20 years and this was by far the most frustrating experience I have ever had assembling minis in a starter box.First the parts are poorly designed, often splitting an arm at each of the joints. That means you have to glue a 1/3" bicep to a 1/4" forearm to an 1/8" hand. This makes it really easy to over glue, leave prints or misalign parts. These arms could have easily been molded as a single part, and it baffles me when companies choose to do this. Plus its evident that they know that its a problem considering they often include an extra hand/claw to make up for the fact that the parts are incredibly tiny.Second the parts ARE numbered on the sprue but NOT in the assembly instructions so you're often left guessing as to which forearm goes to which bicep. Sometimes the picture in the assembly guide is helpful, but when parts look near identical, and test fitting isn't an option, you're often left making a "best guess." To aggravate this problem some of the hole guides are practically non existent. This wouldn't be a problem if the parts were design for flex posing, but because the model is a fixed design, a bad guess could screw up a model. Again, this all comes down to BASIC documentation and design.Ok, so the tiny forearm on my Red Skull went skidding across the table and onto the carpet, lost forever. Not a big deal right? I can just buy another model. NOPE. These figures are only sold through the Starter Set which mean if I want to replace the tiny little forearm, I have to buy a $100 set and unnecessarily double up on all the other characters. How does the game play? I don't know. Having lost parts to Red Skull and Ultron, I've decided not to even bother since I can't field a full roster of bad guys (Edit: add Captain Marvel to the list...). For a game that was suppose to simplify the gameplay of the genre and make it more accessible than say 40k, they certainly made it as difficult as possible to even plan the damn game in the first place. As a huge Marvel fan, I was ready to invest in building out my Crisis roster, but at this point I'll probably just give the game pieces away. Maybe someone at my local hobby shop is missing a few arms too and I can help them out.Disappointing.

Promising game, unfair reviews
It seems as though a large number of reviews here on Amazon focus on the miniatures and how "difficult" they are to assemble. So that's what I want to address first. The thing to understand is that this game is a miniatures game, first and foremost. Emphasis has been placed on creating the most detailed, dynamic minis possible. To that end, it's important to understand how much the miniatures landscape has changed.I've been assembling and painting miniatures since the 1980's, and I still have old Ral Partha, Citadel, and Grenadier figures in my collection. Back then, minis were lead-based, often one piece, and varied tremendously in the amount of detail. But one thing that was pretty standard was the posing. The one-piece casting methods limited the dynamic range of the poses, and while the sculptors tried to be as creative as they could, miniatures often existed on a mostly flat plane. The solution to this was to begin to cast miniatures in multiple parts, separating hands, arms, even heads and torsos. This gave the modeler much more flexibility and options for posing. However, with a miniatures only 25mm or less tall, it also created incredibly small parts. Not only that, but lead (and later pewter and other safer metal alternatives) is much more difficult to work with and glue together than plastic. But at the time, metal was the only option for holding incredibly fine details. Now, injection molding technology and better plastics means that plastic minis can rival metal ones in terms of fine details, and plastic is much, much easier to work with. The point of all of this, is that coming from a background of the miniature hobby, the complexity of the figures in this set doesn't intimidate me. Having said that, I can completely see how someone not used to the hobby might find these figures far more intense than even those in, say, Star Wars Legion. And those reviews, I feel, unfairly bash what might just be some of the best superhero miniatures ever put to market. Properly assembled and painted, these figures are truly astounding. Now as for the game itself? I've read through the rule book and find them to be reasonably straight-forward. Any game that involves miniatures is going to have some inherent complexity. This isn't a board game, where movement is clearly defined by spaces gridded out on a play area. Miniatures based games tend to be more "sandbox," and because of that they need more complex rules for movement and combat. Also, the steps involved for combat look intimidating, because there's a lot of them, but once you get the feel for it, it's really not that difficult to grasp.Perhaps the one area that might prove most challenging is memorizing all of the symbols and what they mean. The first few games will likely involve some page flipping for reference until all players are reasonably familiar with the symbols and icons.Play is designed around a 3x3 area, which is a smart move. Like X-Wing Miniatures, this play area allows enough room for tactical maneuvering, without making it feel like too many turns pass before players engage one another (unlike, say, some of the massive play fields for Warhammer, which can see a number of turns pass before engaging a single enemy).zThe cost of the game is a bit intimidating, especially the cost of individual hero/villain expansions. However, you're paying as much for a high quality model as you are a game component.Over all, this is very cool game. The miniatures provided ARE very complex and likely will be difficult for anyone not familiar with or experienced with model / mini building. But the complexity of the minis is by design in order to create highly detailed, dynamic figures to match the subject matter of the game.Like I said above, I don't think it's completely fair to knock the game because the miniatures are complex.

Unless you are a hardcore miniature player, look for something else
I was so excited for this game but after spending almost 10 hours with putting it together I have decided to return it. My family and I are avid Star Wars Legion players so I thought this game would be a great addition. My problems with this game are simply that it is very difficult to put the miniatures together. Each miniature has pieces so small that it is almost impossible to hold let alone try to glue on to another piece. I had high hopes for this game but they were quickly dashed because of a poorly made product.

Amazing game. Super fun and fast paced.
The game is a Great time. The rules are smart the interaction with the board is awesome. It really feels as if you are playing that hero. Some of the pieces are a little small and annoying to put together but nothing unmanageable and certainly not worth crying over. Overall it is one of the best miniatures games I have played. I completely recommend it.

Awesome combo!
Always been a huge fan of the punisher and these minis don't disappoint. The punisher is pretty strong and has good ranged attacks but Taskmaster is a brutal, deceptively strong beast. Taskmaster can pretty much counter anybody's attack by changing their dice no matter what they do and also reroll his dice most of the time. Another cool aspect of taskmaster is that he can count towards any affiliation. The box comes with a few basic ability cards as well. When painting them I thought an all black punisher was too basic, so I attempted to give him camo pants and I think they turned out pretty well. Obviously if you're reading this you already play this game, so just do yourself a favor and hit the buy button 👍

Excelsior!!!
Wonderfully sculpted miniatures, amazing terrain included in the box, stellar comic art on the cards, and a great rule set. I hope this game has the staying power to be around for a long time.

The best Guardians in my Galaxy
Tree and Rabbit. Rodent and Plant. Name a more iconic duo, I'll wait. Still here? That's what I thought. If you're here, you probably love Marvel Crisis Protocol. I do too - that's why I bought these minis. Judge my painting, I dare you. I have the hand eye coordination of a 95 year old man who spent 45 years on a jackhammer. Gameplay wise, these two absolutely clap. Rocket is a certified glass cannon, while Groot stands tall taking hits like he's an NFL linebacker. Don't want to take both because you prefer a different team comp? That's fine - rocket can absolutely blast folks from range, while Groot is the absolute champ when it comes to locking down and securing objectives. Don't sleep on this tree and trash panda combo, they're a critical part of any Crisis Protocol set.

Gam Gam & Nebby - the Daughters of Thanos
These models are exquisite. Top tier plastics from Atomic Mass Games on these. Nebula looks fantastic, the level of detail on her metal arm is unmatched. Maybe it's because I wasn't into the comics, but Gamora left me a bit heartbroken. White? Why is her armour white? I wanted to do an MCU-style Guardians Crew, but Gamora threw a wrench in that turbine. Don't hate on my painting, I am a newbie. I am learning, and I am ~struggling~. This miniature painting thing is not easy. I have never struggled to be good at something so hard in my life. Painting Nebula refined my motor skills enough to try my hand at shadowing, and I think I did a pretty good job. The models are so good even if you are a butcher with a paintbrush like me, they still look good when you zoom out.

Solo si eres fan de Guardianes de la Galaxia
Buena figura y excelentes detalles. Añade una nueva alineación y una gema. Pero es un personaje algo extraño de jugar. También es una figura que cuesta mucho trabajo de armar. Recomiendo usar pinzas.

Challenging to assemble and wrong base given
I find that Loki is pretty challenging to assemble amidst the small parts. The product came with a wrong base plate for Hela. The base which is in the product pic is not given. Disappointing to know such QC blunder could have happened.
