Great product
Great product. Perfect fit and works great! As for ease of installation, that depends on a person’s knowledge, experience and skill at taking inside door panel off etc. It isn’t very hard if you have the skill. If not, check for info in the web. I had replaced my door handles a couple of years ago, so I had some experience. I did drivers side first and removed complete door handle with lock. When I did passenger side, I found I could simply remove lock with door handle in place. Much easier and less time. I might have been able to do that with the driver’s side also, but I didn’t know. Works for 96 Tacoma
Perfect replacement for my factory 96 tacoma. Please be aware as others have said, this is a complete replacement so trying to get OEM key to work will be a no go. Can not go opposite route either, you will be left with 2 sets of keys. There is no way around it.Tip, make sure to test it before you completely button up the interior inside door panel. This helps as you'd hate to have to remove everything off again just to make adjustments or connections you forgot. Replacement is straight forward and easy. My truck was so old some parts failed because it was so brittle.

Straight forward
Super easy to install. No issues but it does take two people. Once the door panel push pins are out and the door panel is loose, one person needs to hold the panel back so someone else can work. Note, I did not remove the window crank. Everything else was straight forward. Both original cylinders were broke. Couldn't lock or unlock the doors. I prices oem cylinders so I could have one key. Forget it, $106 each, then take them to a locksmith and have them keyed to ignition key. $300, no thanks. We got these and have 2 keys now instead of one. No big deal. Great product. Don't hesitate to buy these. If you have a little mechanical aptitude and some time, it's a breeze.

Direct replacement at a good price.
Seems to be a good product at a good price. Install was relatively easy. Only con is that now I have another key which is not a big deal to be able to lock and unlock my truck again.

Fits the Toyota Tacoma truck perfectly!
The lockset for 2003 Toyota Tacoma Truck shipped safely and on time. It is built with nice and sturdy materials and with good workmanship. Fits my application perfectly. I expect the materials will not corrode or fall apart too quickly.Down side is that the lockset cannot be modified to fit the OEM key. The lockset cannot re-keyed to fit my original ignition key. As a result, I have to hang an extra key on my keyring, therefore, only three stars. Otherwise it is a good product.
