How does this smell? I need something to stop a squeaky brake pedal, so this would be used inside the passenger area of my jeep.

Like most aerosol lubricants, WD-40 Specialist does have an odor when first applied but the odor quickly (within 10 -15 minutes at air temps. at/above 50 F) goes away in well ventilated situations.  I've used this lube on the clutch pedal arm inside the passenger compartment of my 2000 Nissan Maxima with great success and no lingering odor.  Just remember to apply the lube when your jeep is parked outdoors or in a well ventilated garage and use a paper towel placed behind the brake pedal on the floor of your jeep to catch any over-spray while you're applying the lube.  Simply remove the paper towel when you're finished and let your jeep air out for 10-15 minutes and you're ready to go.  You can even "recycle" the paper towel by spreading it out on a dry outdoor surface like your driveway and letting it dry out for 15-30 minutes.  When dry, the paper towel can be reused for other jeep maintenance needs.By the way, WD-40 Specialist lube is an excellent choice for other auto lubrication requirements like hood latches and hinges, battery terminals, door locks, trunk latches and hinges, etc. etc.  This stuff also works wonders on garage door rollers and hinges and as a cleaning agent for garage door opener chains or worm drives, followed by application of a manufacturer recommended lubricating grease. The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for WD-40 Specialist Water Resistant Silicone Lube (available online at wd40specialist.com) lists the weight percent or percent by weight of silicone (poly dimethylsiloxane) as 1-5 percent (shown at bottom of page 1 of the MSDS).  Page 1 of the MSDS also lists a toll-free Information telephone number for the WD-40 Company (1-888-324-7596) if you need additional info about this product not included on the MSDS.  I called this number to confirm the percentage of silicone in this lube.  A very courteous operator indicated that a product technical specialist would either call me back or send me an email within 24-48 hours with the answer.  I gave her my name and telephone number and should be hearing back within 2 days.  You can use this same strategy to get answers to any other technical questions you may have about this product. Is this appropriate for treadmill belt lubricant?

Treadmills require a 100% silicone and this product is mixture. Using the wrong type of oil or lubricant on your treadmill may cause serious damage to the belt, motor and other moving parts. Avoid using household oils and lubricants such as WD-40, silicone spray or oil to lubricate your treadmill. These products contain petroleum distillates that can deteriorate parts on the treadmill.
