Good supplement for those just starting to learn Japanese
I would suggest starting with books that explain at least Hiragana and Katakana in your native language, before fully diving into these books, as they are fully in Japanese, but with that out of the way...I bought these three Japanese 1st grade books and am really excited to get started with them!Book 1 「かん字」 (“Kanji”), teaches 80 unique Kanji with stroke count, on-yomi and kun-yomi readings, as well as some compound words using each Kanji. The front of the book has a few pictures explaining a few of the Kanji’s origins. There’s writing practice exercises after each set of Kanji, a quiz at the end of the section to practice usage, and a full review at the end of the book.Book 2, 「ことばと文しょう」(“Let’s write words and sentences!”) teaches how to write and use words in sentences through various types of exercises.Book 3, 「ひらがなとカタカナ」(“Hiragana and Katakana”) teaches various words in Hiragana and Katakana. It has a full chart of the basic Hiragana and Katakana characters at the front of the book, but goes through all the kana in sets throughout and provides example words with each kana and ends with a review.I’m probably going to start with Book 3, move onto Book 1, and then finish with Book 2, since it seems to build off of the vocabulary learned in the other books in its sentences and writing practice.Instructions for the various sections are in the front of each book and answer keys are in the back. One of my favorite features is that each even numbered page has a spot to write the month and date (and sometimes a grading score, in the case of the exercises, quizzes, and review), so you can measure your progress as you move through the book daily. There’s even a full page on the inside of the back cover to record all of the assessment grades at a glance. The seller I bought from sent this version, which is the 2020 edition of the series.

Cute and good for Japanese Study!
These all open horizontally, which might not be clear from the images. They're packed with cute illustrations. I'm using the Hiragana & Katakana book to help correct my poor handwriting skills. I studied Japanese in college but that was about ten years ago now... so for the other books (especially the Kotoba (words) & Bunsho (sentences)) if you're a beginner you'll need to have some grammar under your belt. But it's like immersion study for beginners-- simple grammar, beginner words & kanji, and they have furigana because it's meant for first graders. I'm very glad I got these because it's a practical way to relearn what I've forgotten--instead of slogging through the very simple first steps of a traditional Japanese language textbook for English speakers. Just be careful with your verb endings unless you want to, well, speak like a first grader!

Excellent learning tool
It’s great that it’s fully Japanese because you can learn a lot just from reading the table of contents. There are some things that are difficult because some parts does not have furigana for the kanji, but sites like jisho.org help with that because you can draw the kanji without knowing what it says or means. I’ve learned so much about stroke order and have a much easier and better time writing kanji and predicting the stroke order. I would recommend this to someone in the intermediate phase of learning. This isn’t suitable for a complete beginner. Although these teach hiragana and katakana I suggest you learn that first on your own and use this to practice writing kana. Otherwise you will probably be completely lost.

love them
smaller than i thought but a good size still. Hiragana/katakana book shows how to write them the correct way ,lots of pictures. kanji book has less pictures but still has some; shows you the correct way to write the kanji. next to the kanji is the hiragana spelling as well. the other workbook has lots of fill in the blank sentences. kinda confusing for me but thats because i need to translate every other word. has a good amount of pictures as well. all three books are held together by two staples.

Cute and usefull, not bilingual
This is not something I would normally buy, but I actually got one of the books in an order mixup. And since I found it usefull I went ahead and got this three book set. The books are smallish, and aimed for Children. If you're learning japanese and don't mind the elementary school approach then these may work for you. You do need basic reading comprehension as these are NOT bilingual.

amazing for the price
these are some really cute books but my only complaint is that the kanji book doesnt have much space to practice the writing for the actual kanji. just around 6 squares to write them on but over all very good quality.

Excelente material de aprendizaje
Los tres libros estan excelentes, viene muy bien explicado, pero tal ves lo que si sea una desventaja es que estan completamente en japones, y no tienen ninguna explicacion en romaji, por lo que es dificil de entender para los que no sepan leer kanji o hiragana, ironicamente los libros son para aprender hiragana :), pero de cualquier forma si los recomiendo.
