not my cup of tea
I had previously used a bamboo hook made by Chiaogoo, and thought I would buy a bamboo set to fill in gaps of hooks I didn't have. I really wanted to like these, but I didn't. I've been crocheting about a year and like the rubber handled hooks by Yarnology the best, then by Clover (although haven't tried a ton). I really liked the Chiaogoo, but these were not as smooth and really slowed my crochet down. I'm sure a lot of that is personal preference. I also would not recommend these for amigurumi because that is such a tight crochet that I feared I was going to break the 3.5mm hook while doing it. That hook also had a small chip out of it in a place where the yarn caught occasionally. I know I could have sanded it, but these hooks are just not for me. I couldn't enjoy crocheting with them and I even switched hooks in the middle of an amigurumi pumpkin even though the hook I switched to was a different size. I just couldn't foresee using the hook the whole time since I was not liking it. This review is based more on my preference and how they worked for me - and besides the one chip on one hook there really isn't anything wrong with the hooks themselves. But they are not as smooth as Chiaogoo and I didn't like them. They will be going in the next garage sale!

Fabulous Crochet Hooks at a Great Price!
I purchased this set because I recently started working with cotton yarn and I'd read that bamboo hooks were best for that type of yarn. I looked at several sets before purchasing these. I chose these because I liked that they were being sold by someone that actually crochets rather than some faceless overseas mass production company. I also liked that the US size was etched into the hooks in addition to the UK and Metric sizes. Most of the other bamboo sets I saw did not include the US size and the ones that did cost 4 -5X more. They look great, feel smooth and work well for me. I have only used two of them and I am very pleased with these hooks so far!

I use Bamboo--Do You?
I love Bamboo. I now love Bamboo Crochet Hooks! I wasn't sure but thought I'd give them a try.I love that they are so smooth, and do not splinter! I also love the fact that they have all possible sizes (three) stamped into each hook!Thank You, Raveling Rebecca!

nice hooks
The hooks I received were great as far as weight (can be troublesome for people with arthritis) they are beautifully made. My only issue is though they are marked they are extremely light. I was hoping for dark stamp. But with a lighted magnifier can be read. No problems with wood splitting or splinters.

Love using the wood.
I really enjoy using these. I hate using metal hooks as I have arthritis and the cold metal is uncomfortable. These work very well and I enjoy how easy it is to use them.

Nice kit with varied sizes
Nice kit with varied sizes. Lowered one star due to some splintering on the base of the handles. Still useable.

Very smooth bamboo love how it feels in my hand very lightweight and they seem to glide better than plastic or metal ones.
