Strong taste
Stronger taste than other brands I've tried. Not unpleasant, but more like molasses. Also thicker than others I've tried. Will buy again.

Pure quality Yacon syrup
I have tried a few different yacon syrups and it is true they have different flavors. This particular syrup has more of a molasses like quality vs others I have tried. The color and opacity is also different which makes me wonder how pure other syrups are. I use it mostly as a topping for yogurt in place of honey for its prebiotic benefits and sweetness without sugar. It adds chocolate/molasses flavor and pairs great with any type of berry or granola. Or if my belly needs a reset I'll eat a teaspoon every day for a few days to get my digestion back on track. If you are unfamiliar with yacon syrup I recommend to go low and slow as your body adjusts. Too much yacon syrup has been shown to create digestive upset but the body will acclimate to it and you can use more once you are used to it. I appreciate that this product is produced in small batches as it feels more authentic than some other yacon syrups I have tried. The reviews that state this product doesn't taste good simply aren't fair because that is totally subjective and if you're comparing it to another version that is made differently or from a different region of the world, of course it's not going to taste the same. This product also supports small family farmers in Nepal; a real win win win.

Real bad
I don't know if I got a bad bottle but this was terrible. When I first opened it, it was so thick it wouldn't pour so I set the battle upside down for a while when I tried it poured but was thick and grainy, like how honey can get. Anyway I tried it in my tea it tasted so bad I couldn't finish my tea. I really wanted to like this because it's expensive but I tried it 3 times it tasted bad and I was nauseous the rest of the day all 3 times. Of course no return or refund which is really poo because I think I got a rotten bottle but I have no recourse.

Odd texture
I've been using yacon syrup for years. Usually, it's a think liquid, like molasses. I opened this bottle yesterday, and it was a weird texture. There was a top layer that was extra thick and grainy, like apple butter or fruit paste. Underneath it was liquid. I tried to shake the bottle to mix it up, but it's too thick. The flavor also has a metallic taste that is different from what I'm used to.

Tried lots of Yacon syrups--This Nepal one is by far the best!
Over the past 10 years, I have tried lots of sugar substitutes. The more I read about yacon syrups the more I was impressed and started trying different ones. Someone finally recommended this Global Farms Yacon Syrup from Nepal and my wife and I LOVE IT. We are on our 3rd bottle. We use it on cereals in the morning and have never found anything that makes us enjoy breakfast as much. I have it sometime during the day as a sweet snack, in teas and coffee, and I can use it in the evening on a piece of toast--DEE-LISCH--and it satisfies my usual sugar craving which in the past would take me to sometimes become the evening cookie/candy monster! AND, it's got lots of side benefits, like being high in fructooligosaccharides (Google it), which helps digestive health, and is a calorie-reducing, low-glycemic & low-carb--all of which are especially important to me. We feel like we have found a treasure. There is another reason why we love this Global Family Farms brand, aside from the fact it tastes better than the ones coming from Peru. We appreciate the way this company has organized this business in favor of uplifting the lives of the family farmers who are producing this product. We love supporting companies like that. I feel like, after all these years of searching for an ideal, healthy sweetener, we got it!

Delicious and Heartwarming
Yacon is closely related to Jerusalem Artichoke, both great sources of Inulin which is a great prebiotic. I've been eating "sunchokes" since my first organic garden about fifty years ago because of the taste and ease of growing them. I was also intrigued by the possibilities of using a substance that satisfies like a potato or a grain, without the carbohydrate risks, and found a pasta made partly from a flour made from the root. Tasty!I was happy to find another source of Inulin FOS in the Yacon root, but was amazed with the fruity caramel taste and benefits of the syrup. And this particular version is packaged in a stylishly labeled glass bottle with excellent nutritional and glycemic index information. Also, the seller in Iowa packs the product nicely for safe shipping, and includes a nice cover letter and brochure about the sourcing from Nepal. Heartwarming!
