This is a good product for people like myself who need a magnifier to read small print. The main problem is the lighting which is veryn temperamental. and moves from bright to dark on its own volition. One has to keep adjusting the wrteched thing /In the end I fo not use the light but provide my own. Other than that - no problems.

The (longer than average) flexible arm is the best of its type I've used - it doesn't sag even when fully extended horizontally despite the considerable weight of the lens.Lighting's good - bright and even, but there's a bit of glare from the diffuser visible back through the lens at the perimeter.Optically, the lens is good. Minimal colour fringing at the edges, little geometrical distortion.Working distance (from lens to focus point) is about 9 - 10cmBuild quality is good. It's a nice feature that the LED lighting power adaptor is on a USB plug, meaning that when the power adaptor inevitably dies of old age replacing it will be simple.It's expensive, there's no denying that. There are many cheaper ones listed on Amazon. Nonetheless, I feel I've got my money's worth.If it got lost / broken or stolen I'd buy another without any real hesitation. I think it's a five-star review overall."

It’s a good lamp the second one I’ve had This one is better though as it’s rechargeable also.

This may not the greatest lens optically, but it produces a nice bright light and the magnified image is more than adequate (for my needs). The battery recharges quickly and provides the light for a surprisingly long time. The head is also very flexible so you are able to position it just where you want it.

A really nice lamp (good build quality) and very pleased with it for modelling except when it needed recharging for the first time. The recharge only worked for one or two minutes (the green flashing indicator disappeared). Subsequently the light then gradually dimmed within a few minutes. Tried to use it in dumbed down mode with the charger always attached but once the green flashing indicator had gone the light changed with intensity with the recharge cycle (every 5s). I am guessing that there can be a general quality control issue with rechargeable batteries from the region of origin as for example I have had to swap out batteries on new solar outdoor lights to make them work rather then send them back. Unfortunately, the battery on this lamp cannot be replaced so I have returned it. Anyway, a real shame. Perhaps I am unlucky with this particular lamp.

Solid, bright my dad was very happy with this for his finds through metal detecting. The magnifier is brilliant at looking at his old coins he’s found.. happy dad equals a happy daughter
