Better than panic mouse 360!
Let's be clear, this is NOT the branded Panic Mouse 360. It's a generic or imitation. My cat used to go through Panic Mouse 360's in a little over a year. After the first few weeks of the original PM360 I would notice deterioration in the product's operation. The Pure Commotion toy (brown PM360 knock off) is better than the original PM360! It moves quicker and aside from an annihilated feather end toy done in by cat, it seems to be holing up better and my cat loves it move because it moves quicker. I hope they continue to make the wants and feather end toys for this one!

It Depends on the Cat??
I bought the Panic Mouse 360 for our son and daughter-in-law's 7-year-old, slightly oiverweight cat, Yeager. My son and his wife and their cat had recently moved in with us. I am the only one of the family who is home during the day.Yeager is an excellent mouser. In the short time that my son and his wife have lived here, Yeager has caught several field mice and brouight them home.During the cold, windy New England winter weather, when Yeager's time outside is shorter, I thought that he would enjoy a Panic Mouse. I had read wonderfully positive reviews by other cat owners, telling of their cats' happy and very active experiences with the toy. One owner said that she had gone through 3 Panic Mouse machines and many of the furry artificial mice over 8 yyears with her 2 cats! The Panic Mouse seems to be very well designed and made. It has multple speeds for the three-tailed mouse and gives the mouse unpredictable jerky mouse-motions. The owner is free to do other things during the play period he/she selects (from 15 to 60 minutes).Yeager seemed somewhat excited by the toy at first, but almost immediately lay down and waited for the mouse to come around. He would catch it, then let it go and wait for it to come around again. During the first session, he did, sequentially, bite off and chew 2 tails. He has never stood up and chased the mouse. He always just lies on his side and waits for the mouse to come around, catches it, then releases it, and waits again. Before even the 15-minute time-period runs out, he gets up and walks away.It is as if, to him, it's a not-too-interesing game of catch.Maybr Yeager is smarter than some other cats, maybe he's lazier or has a shorter attention span than some other cats. I don't know. I was dissappointed. Yet I don't know how a toy could be any better designed than the Panic Mouse. Perhaps your cat will find it exciting and challenging.

Panic Mouse
Panic Mouse is a big hit with my 5 month old Chartreux. The plastic wand came right off in minutes so I secured it with a cable tie and electrical tape and it has stayed on. My kitten kept flipping the unit over so I drilled holes in each of the feet and screwed them down to a 3/4 inch piece of plywood. The 15 minute timer is perfect.I have started to use only the slower speeds and my kitten will hide and sneak up on his prey. On the faster speeds the cat will get really rough with the toy and hold on the mouse and strain the motor. I have had the unit 2 weeks and my cat plays with it at least twice a day.

Shows no interest
Had figured this would be a good way to entertain our Kitty when no people were around to play with her. She normally likes and shows interest in the wand toys, and since this seemed to have the same "principle" (but without the human) I thought she would go for it...but I've thought the same about other products and was wrong, and was also wrong about this one. She did not show any interest in this other than a little intimidation by the swinging arm, even when it was set on the lower speed. I was a little afraid that if she did approach this thing, the yellow arm would bop her or poke an eye, but needless to say it never got that far. She was not intrigued enough to go near it. Still not ready to give up on this, I set it outside one day when a neighbor's cat was visiting. He also did not seem to realize it was there to pique his interest. Returned it.

Poorly Made Product
This product broke within a few minutes after unpacking it. After putting together the two pieces that need to be assembled, I attempted to turn on the panic mouse 360. The on/off button was difficult to press, and it required pressing many times before the toy started spinning. I attempted to turn the toy off, and had difficulty doing so because of the on/off button. I used the end of a pen to press down on the on/off button to get it to react. This caused the button to break off and fall inside the base of the toy. This product is very cheaply made.

the cat likes it
My cat is a little different; he always finds a different way to play with his toys. He also happens to weight 16 lbs so the toy usually loses the battle. In this case, my cat likes to catch the mouse and drag it and the base across the room. After a minute or so, the base either gets lodged on something or gives up the wand and my cat trots around the room like the victor. It's very cute, but I'm doing a lot of work replacing the wand when the toy is supposed to be interactive ;)We also use the spare mouse to play fetch. So the toy is getting a lot of use and a lot of love. I think it's a good buy ... but I haven't had any parts broken either.

CATS ARE GONNA LOVE THIS!
Panic mouse is a great toy that all cats will love, Honest! We have owned these for our cats for 5 years now, and they have never grown tired of the toy. We have owned 3 over the past 5 years, for i have found out that after a year of wear and tear the motor will go in them. But, i still rate this a great and worth the money toy for all cats.

My cat loves it; But it didn't last.
This is the second one we bought in a year. The first one lasted about 10 months. Our cat loves the thing and would attack it and drag it around. He is a 24lb Blue so he was pretty rough with it. I didn't think 10 mo. was 2 bad. The second one however lasted only a week. The drive chain was redesigned to use 2 little o-rings and both of them broke and the feather no longer twirled. If you are handy the fix is relatively easy. Poke a small phillips screw driver through the pads on the bottom, remove the top. Use a R16 o-ring in place of the 2 little ones. R16 is much thicker and will be less prone to break. If I couldn't have fixed this easily it would get one star and returned. Since my cat loves it so much, I really had to fix it.
