Product description Optical Excellence for Analog and Digital Photography If you’re a professional or an amateur photographer and whether you prefer landscape, portrait, animal, real estate, or sports photography - the hardware requirements for photography should not be underestimated! For instance, Schneider Optics and their wide range of B + W photo filters offer an exceptional lens accessory designed to help you make the most out of each and every shot without breaking the bank. Using A Polarizing Filter In The Field B + W polarizing filters ensure that reflections and light reflections can be drastically removed from the photographs that you take. Things like disturbing elements, unwanted reflections on water, glare on a pane of glass, among others, can be easily removed way before post-production. Even absolute professionals with the best post-processing software cannot achieve these results afterwards without filters! However, since every object reflects and scatters light (e.g. blades of grass), it can sometimes happen so quickly that colors become falsified and appear dull and boring. Especially in landscape photography, the photo filter works to – quite literally – filter out these reflections and ensure that a green meadow or a blue sky looks richer, more colorful, and more natural. Comparison Especially in landscape photography, the photo filter works to – quite literally – filter out these reflections and ensure that a green meadow or a blue sky looks richer, more colorful, and more natural Reduce reflections from windows, ponds, lakes and many more. Review: Best photography accessory I have purchased to date - Worth every single penny I paid for it. Be careful that you get the Nano coated version. The normal MRC model is available for the same price; fortunately desertcart let me cancel my order easily. Rotating this polarizer against an LCD monitor completely blacked it out (so long as you are looking through it like the camera would), so I know that the polarization is excellent. I took pictures of sky and glass and played with the effects. I'd have to say this is the best accessory I've purchased, aside from the camera and lenses themselves. As you would expect from a polarizer, it boosts contrast (like good polarized sunglasses), and lets you select which reflections you want to see and hide. The latter means that you can see inside glass windows that would normally be opaque due to reflections. No vignetting on my Nikon D7100 with 10-24mm DX lens. Standard Nikon pinch caps fit securely, although they do come off with less squeeze than I use with my protective Hoya UV filter. Still secure enough that I'm not worried about it. I have not tried stacking filters.

Great for fish photos! High quality filter.
I bought this filter to take photos of fish in our trout pond. It is amazing for that purpose. The afternoon I received this was full of glare and reflections. Without looking through the camera I couldn’t see a fish. But with it on and rotated properly I was able to get great photos. The dark photo on the left was with the filter rotated to allow glare. And on the right with glare minimized. I was able to get amazing photos of the trout feeding. I can’t believe I waited this long to have one of these! My Smith sunglasses also allowed me to see these fish and that is what tipped me off that I was missing a lot in my photos. Using this filter is way easier than trying to shoot through my sunglasses. Seems to work well with my Canon 80D autofocus and auto exposure. Schneider no longer supports the counterfeit protection website that links to the box hologram label, but this seems obviously legit from the research I did as to what to look for.

Excellent Filter - Highly recommend!
I know B+W for many years since 2006 but I never had one. Until recently I switched my camera and lenses to another brand. I had this chance to try the B+W filter. I used to have Kenko, Tiffen, and Hoya filters. I would say B+W is so far the best filter I've ever had. Not only the image clarity is perfect, but also the quality of the filter how it was built. Very slim, smooth, and metallic feel. I was worry about counterfeit issue like others reported here. So I went on the B+W official website and emailed them the security label (which is on the side of the box) to check the authentication. Luckily, they told me the one I have is legit. I'm sharing some pictures here and testing video for your reference.

Top of the Line Polarizer for Professional Lenses
Impressions: Very high quality filter for a professional L series Canon lens. Does what it should. Mine was included as a gift with the purchase of the new 100-400mm IS L II Canon lens. Pros: -Very high quality filter. Everyone knows B+W filters are top of the line. -Easy to thread onto lens. -Comes packed with a sturdy and padded carrying case. -Very thin profile! -Very stiff rotation. This is a pro and con for me. Cons: -Because it is a circular polarizer, you have to rotate the outer ring to change how light contacts the lens. Rotating the outer ring is not tough, but it is very rigid. I suppose I would rather it be rigid than loose like some other circular polarizers I have used, but when you are trying to line up a nice shot, its distracting to have to add so much force to the ring to get it to rotate.

Quality CPL!!
I read some of the reviews and was worried about the possibility of receiving a knock off. When my package arrived, I knew by the weight this was a genuine B+W filter (brass weight, gold lettering). Just to be sure, I checked the manufacturer authenticity website and entered the code to double check. I then proceeded to put it a test at night, which you can see in my image of my tempered glass window of the watercooled PC. Without filter, there is a reflection of my monitor. With the filter, turned appropriately, the reflection is gone! The filter itself fits my RF 28-70mm F2 perfectly, and the dial turns freely as needed. The lens hood fits on both ways as well. Amazon also shipped this same day! Extremely happy with this purchase!

Hoya Halves The Price With Nearly The Same Quality
I own both a B+W 72mm XS-Pro HTC Kaesemann Circular Polarizer with Multi-Resistant Nano Coating and this Hoya 72mm HRT Circular PL Polarizer Multi-Coated Glass Filter, and they both perform outstandingly, except the Kaesemann is double the price. So far, the only difference that I can tell is that this is made with an brass metal ring and the Hoya is made with a aluminum metal ring. The glass seems to be identical in quality. There may be slight improvements in the Kaesemann glass, but they are not noticeable to the naked eye, and I can't tell the difference even when zooming in on my images either. One thing to note though, while this filter (and the Hoya) will have the approximately 25% increased transparency that will allow for more light, the polarizing effect will appear to be equally less intense. You can still reduce reflections with it, but colors will pop a lot less than a polarizing filter that has less transparency. For me, the extra light is worth it though.

Very effective in very bright outdoor conditions.
I have been doing amateur photography for quite some time now and like many other people got caught up in buying more gear in the hopes that it would make my photography better. As time passes you realize that the gear doesn't make the picture the photographer's skills make the picture. Having said that there are some things that do make a difference if not only in the workflow. I did a lot of research on different filters and I finally decided to bite the bullet and get this circular polarizer filter. So, what did this filter do for me? It really helped my daytime outdoor photos "pop" for sure, but it also helped to cut down on my post processing workflow. How did it decrease workflow? It helps out on scenes with a very large dynamic range. I can adjust exposure better and get details in the clouds that I wasn't able to get before. Rotating the filter changes the "intensity" of the effect I get especially in the sky and in reflective surfaces. I get more visible details in the OUTDOOR photos that I take. The details are especially noticed on bright sunny days. This filter will NOT help you inside or on very cloudy days so be aware of that. I would suggest making sure that you KNOW that you need this filter before you buy. B+W filter are some of the best around and they are about the most expensive around as well. I do consider it an investment but only a worthwhile investment if you will actually use it.
