Schmincke - Aqua-Bronze, silver, 20 ml, 15 815 032, shiny metallic effects on gouache and watercolor paintings, paper, cardboard, painting board, canvas

I love the way this looks - so much so that on the first test swatch I was ready to buy all the colors they have - but when it dried I found that it was very very easy to just brush it right off the paper with my fingers. Very strange. I was using chinese xuan paper and the bronze I tried was the aqua bronze. Maybe i'll try putting it in some acrylic gloss medium and see how it goes.:::::: update:::::I tried this tonight on arches watercolor paper and it's sticking very nicely!! I'm finding it's the most vibrant when sprinkled on top of wet watercolor

This stuff is brilliant, liquid metal in its own binder, adds a beautiful touch to my watercolours and mixed media journal. Do not ever put a wet brush into the bottle , best to put a little directly onto your pallet and add water there.

My favorite artist and favorite instructor, Angela Fehr, used this rich gold powder on black watercolor paper in one of her online YouTube demonstrations. She accidentally dropped quite a lot into a pile and it was gorgeous! The black and gold were exquisite together, and made for a lovely BLING painting! Application and use is simple: loose, tightly packed powder in a little glass jar about the size of my thumb. I used it to ramp up a few greeting cards by wetting my brush and taking the powder from the inside cap. I was so impressed, I purchased silver and copper as well. All lovely, all pack a punch, and all were far more affordable than I expected.

This powder has a very offputting, chemical smell. I was hoping it would disperse a lot better in watercolor like the brusho pigments do, but it doesn’t. It separates and it’s just not very shiny. I kind of wonder if somehow I got the wrong formulation since they sell it for oil and acrylic as well. But it is not returnable so I’m not going to order another jar just on the off chance that I get a good one next time.

This is a WOW. It is exactly the color gold I was looking for. You really have to experiment with it to know how much is too much. Watch some YouTube videos before using to see the range of what you can do and how to activate. I just played with it In conjunction with my watercolor paintings and can’t wait to do so again. I have metallic gold watercolors but this is a whole other specie - even got some texture out of it!Have fun!

Beautiful Gold watercolor, this is so beautiful its like painting with liquid gold. It already has a binder in it so you just add a few drops of water and volia ready to paint.

Nice to find a powder so easy to use. Dip your brush in water, then in the bottle and paint it on. Or take a pinch and sprinkle on to wet paper for the look of fairy dust or a metal on metal clash (sword fight, train's brakes...) I have also tried mixing it with watercolour paint. It works well with cadmium red, semi blending for a hotter tone a little less sparkly than when used alone. Fun stuff.

well I have to say.. I'm impressed. LOVELY effects... brushed it dry with large, ALMOST TOTALLY paintbrush onto wooden mirror frame, effects are gorgeous. have more frames to revamp so , after reading about product, have no doubt it will perform well , used with more water. Sprinkled it onto a painting also and WOW! Gd item indeed, not cheap-stuff, so well worth getting as goes a v long long way.

I am so impressed with these metallic oil paints. I am totally in love with them. They've completely changed the nature of my paintings. So grateful! They work really well with the Schmincke bronze medium, but what I found fantastic is that, after mixing the metallic dust with the medium, I can then add it to some of my other oil paints to create multiple shades. Perfection.
