Two CD set. 2013 release from the veteran British vocalist, his first live recording in over 20 years: Fire It Up: Live documents his celebrated European Fire it Up tour, witnessed by millions of delighted fans since it's kick off in March 2013. Fire it Up: Live presents the show at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne in April 2013. "I'm very flattered", Joe Cocker confessed at the show, "because there's so many young artists on the scene now - it's amazing that we can still pull them in". This success is due to an exceptionally gifted artist, who thrills his audience merely with the immense power of his voice, as well as the timeless magic of hits like "With a Little Help of my Friends", "You Can Leave Your Hat On", "Unchain My Heart", "Up Where We Belong" and "You Are So Beautiful".

The late, great Joe Cocker still moving audiences to the very end
Some 40 plus years down the road from Woodstock, Joe Cocker was still actively touring, recording, and thrilling audiences around the world. Touring behind his then-latest album release (Fire It Up), this two-disc live set, recorded in Germany in April of 2013, represents his stage show in the latter days of his storied career. And it's a beauty. The setlist is made up of highlights from across the years and the many record label pitstops he made over the decades. From Feelin' Alright and With a Little Help from My Friends to The Letter and Cry Me a River, from You Are So Beautiful and Up Where We Belong to You Can Leave Your Hat On, Unchain My Heart, and When the Night Comes, it's all good, very good. Joe is in fine form, he's got a great band, and the set ebbs and flows in a way that only a master showman can deliver. And the late Joe Cocker was definitely a master showman, to the end. Four stars at half-mast and highly recommended, especially to Cocker fans.

Audio of his Cologne Fire It Up Tour concert
This is the audio portion of his Cologne, Germany concert during his last live concert tour promoting his last studio album Fire It Up before God took him away from us (he tells the audience he is looking forward to seeing everyone again!). Joe Cocker was like fine wine and as a concert performer just got better and more polished with age. I love music that makes me want to stand up and dance or sit down and cry and Joe Cocker does both.

Tremendous Live Concert CD
Great concert! Cocker was in great form and the band was tight. Since it was a live album they move from song to song with efficient dispatch. This was the first live concert album for the Englishman in decades. Rumors were this was to be his retirement album and as fate would have it, that is exactly how it played out with the passing of Cocker just a short time later. Unfortunately all U.S. distributions were out of stock with no estimate of when it would be available but I did find it on Amazon UK. It's that good. I wasn't willing to wait.

Like a fine wine!
Simply stated, Joe Cocker is like a fine wine. He seems to get better with age. This is Cocker at the pinnacle of his craft. An amazing song line up and a voice that belts out every tune with a passion that is fired up like no other time in his career. The tightest live band of all time. Rolling Stone Magazine, you should put this one in your Top 100 Albums of all time. A must have CD for your collection. You'll listen to this one over and over and over again! Thank you Mr. Cocker for your finest work yet.

... pf the crooner's final Gigs and he goes out like he began with a little help from his friends ...
Probably pf the crooner's finalGigs and he goes out like he began with a little help from his friends we won't see the likes of this type of performer agIn on this world even if it lasts another 1.75 billion years because this kind of heart and foul does not come around on your everyday singers of today the rareness of diamond in the raw greatness is fleeting to you Joe Cocker made us feel and not just think this is a stunning example of that RIP my man

Joe Still Rocking
After the huge disappointment of Joe's last 2 studio albums - I bought this out of sheer sentimentality I guess. What you get here is a mixture of standards Joe has been belting out for years and some of the newer stuff. The standards have been re-worked nicely. Joe is in mighty form - hits that impossible note at the end of "You are so beautiful" and we get the trademark roar on "With a little Help" and "Summer in the City". The band (most of whom have been with Joe a long long time) are excellent. The big and pleasant surprise is how much better the newer songs from Hard Knocks and Fire It Up sound - with much better musical ideas from Nick Milo than Serletic's excesses. The final track " You Don't Know" even though it retains the most ridiculous and unnecessary chord changes is a thing of beauty. Don't worry that you probably have numerous versions of much of this set - its definitely worth buying. Somewhere Joe says this is the first (official) live album in 23 years - if you go back to Joe Cocker Live which Joe is referring to you'll find quite a few songs have survived from that era - and some weren't even new then - but what the hell !

Right back in form
The old groaner is back with a new band (only Jack Bruno rwemains from previous lineups). The set is a mix of songs from his most recent studio CD Fire It Up (including I Come In Peace written byu Australia's own Ross Wilson) and pretty much his greatest hits. He's old, he's nearly bald, but he's in great voice and this is a solid live set. DVD also same comments.

) days and not disappointed with this album
Rarely if ever review music as much too personal in my perception. However put it simply have always been a Joe Cocker follower from my university and his earliest (Sheffield/Black Swan?) days and not disappointed with this album.
