Works great for checking moisture levels in your dirt so buy it for that. I'm not convinced the pH part works at all, needle never moves and shows high pH all the time (I've added pH down many times and it never moves at all). And the sun light meter is a joke. Get it for the water level checker and you'll be amazed at how much you are over watering your plants! No batteries required.

Great product, the reason for not giving 5 starts is that I would had wish an explanation table for the typical vegetables used in the US.Update on the review, the item broke after few weeks of use, maybe was a defective one, and the seller agreed to replace the item after sending a picture as proof, but after weeks of waiting they never processed the replacement. I am giving it 2 stars now as I can’t guarantee the product will last too long and unfortunately I did not experience a good customer service.Amazon did help stepping in given the circumstances.

I bought this as few of my plants are doing well recently.Moisture level check works great which made me realize that i have been watering along with the pouring rains.I did not understand the PH level as the needle did not move.And the light meter did not show the difference during the day between the interior and exterior.No batteries needed is another feature which made me buy this product.I will say it would be of great help to check the moisture levels when kids water the plants.

There was no difference in the meter when I used in on plants that had just been watered and were obviously moist, and plants that were bone dry. The meter read dry for both. Additionally, the pH did not change at all when testing different soils. The light meter seemed to work minimally, but that barely moved as well between areas that were drastically different in light.

This is a great product for the gardening enthusiast and beginner like myself. The multi purpose tool allows you to easily switch between pH, moisture, and light with a small switch under the dial.Light meter - make sure you aren't casting your shadow onto the meter to ensure proper reading.I compared to local products at 2 large hardware stores and this product provides more functionality for a better price. Highly recommend to the beginner learning now to over water and adjusting soil to pH for a variety of plants.

The only function that appear to work was the light meter though I don't know it's accuracy. When i walked outside on the shady side of the house the meter pegged to the right side. Nothing happened on the moisture and PH setting. The meter never moved even when I moved it and let it sit for at least 15min around the garden and yard. I'm returning this thing as it's of no use to me. The meter is too congested and hard to read.

I had one of these for about 2 years that worked well. This unit however has not worked at all. I even put the stems into a glass of water and it didn't register.

It’s not easy to understand what I’m supposed to see. The instructions that come with the product weren’t very detailed. I’m new to gardening and I thought this would help me manage the watering aspect. But it has not been helpful. Maybe with more detailed instructions it can be.
