The best. The only.
Waited way too long to get this just exactly perfect capo. Story - A Sam ash sales associate let me use his personal one many many months ago when I was test driving an expensive Taylor n store; he said make sure you give it back. SMOOTH … I didn’t want to give it back to him of course I did. No sam ash didn’t sell them). Lazy me with a box of assorted capos told myself next day ah don’t need another capo. Wrong. Show last week took me 30 seconds (an eternity) Puttin a capo on first fret with no buzz and in tune …. ENOUGH! Amazon when I get home and find one of these !! This capo has taken away all my on stage performing anxiety about “OK this next tune requires a capo” and then fidgeting and praying for no issues tension tuning when I drop the capo clamp onto the neck telling the same stupid tales while I fidget The design is logically perfect. Compact (doesn’t ever get in the way) even pressure (no worries over just one string buzzing out nor one string being out of tune etc) + adjustable tension (use perfectly on any guitar no matter what the set up ) quick as a jackrabbit to confidently slide to any fret, even quick store it behind the nut (a couple of turns and off you go) bottom line all your capo worries / issues are magically gone. Buying two more just to have available for multiple guitars; and likely a few more to give as Christmas gifts Worth every penny, especially if you say the same tentative prayer I silently say when I (used to) put on the standard squeeze clamp capos. Get real. Get one. You will not return it.

This capo exceeded my expectations. Get it!
I've been playing guitar for 35 years and have used many many different capos. None of them come close to this Paige capo in terms of both quality and performance. First of all, I did not expect it to be as small as it was. Like, at first I thought Amazon accidentally sent me a mandolin capo. However, it fit just fine on my Martin HD-28. It's the perfect size. It's super light, but it works incredibly well. I don't feel it whatsoever when I'm playing, which has not been the case with bigger, bulkier spring-based capos. And it operates just flawlessly. I can adjust the tension so it fits in just the right spot and isn't too tight or too loose on the strings, which means intonation is spot on when using it. And when I'm not using it, it slides behind the nut with only a few seconds needed to switch. I am incredibly glad I purchased this capo and highly recommend it.

It works.
The capo works adequately enough; I use it on my Gibson J45 60’s Standard and SJ-200- that in itself says volumes. There is no hassle having to readjust it this way and that to keep the low E from buzzing or the high E. I love that my axe’s are safe from any kind of incidental damage; ie. scratching, thinning of the Finnish or any kind of cosmetic damage. It’s acceptable for home and studio. Why the downplaying; the capo latch! This feature is a buzz kill to what would otherwise be a truly sweet capo! The latch for locking the capo fret bar in place is cumbersome, it’s like locking and unlocking a necklace chain with those tiny eye holes and clasps- probably because it’s the mechanism!???! A wee bit tiny thing to try to get a hold of and put in place over the bar latch. It takes me sometimes up to a minute to remove it safely mindful not to damage my $3,500 plus guitars I use it on- J45 & SJ200 Jumbo. This is why I reserve my usage comment to home & studio, using it live would be a mistake unless it’s a small intimate crowd or a bunk gig!??! Lol. For the money, I would and will buy again. The one I really want is well over a hundred dollars and has to wait until a couple of pedals and other GAS acquisitions are paid off . Four and a half stars. Cheers!

Works great, keeps guitar in tune up to 5th fret
I play in a duo with another guitarist. She plays a Taylor GS Mini. We have tried a lot of different capos. We use capos a lot as she changes the key of cover songs to match her vocal range. This poses problems for me as I play a much longer scale acoustic/electric hybrid with a long neck. I've played and worked on guitars for over 30 years but have not used a capo extensively until now. We are never in tune when we put on a capo and never in-tune with each other. We have bought and tried clamp style like Kyser, Shubb, Dunlop and most recently the very disappointing Greg Bennett's Glider (rolling) Capo. Since she plays a Taylor so I thought about buying the Taylor capo as it's the same yolk design as the Paige. The supposed secret of the Taylor is that it has the same radius as the Taylor guitar fingerboard so pressure is evenly applied across all strings. The sellers of the Taylor Capo on Amazon don't tell you this. This is why there are mixed reviews of that Capo. There are youtube videos demonstrating that the Taylor Capo works great on Taylor guitars but try it on a Fender Telecaster and it doesn't work well at all. This Paige looks like the same radius as the Taylor, so I gave it a shot. The Paige costs a bit less than the Taylor Capo but trying it out on the Taylor GS Mini guitar, it performs the best over all the above mentioned brands of capos. Depending on the amount of tension, it pulls the g and b string a bit sharp but not enough to notice by ear. We checked first fret to 5th fret with a tuner. We could get away from having to constantly re-tune each time we move the capo. On the Taylor GS Mini, this capo DOES fit behind the nut when not in use. This may not be true on all brands and models. As for my guitar, its a 20 year old Carvin AE185 25" scale acoustic electric. It has a 14" radius fingerboard and the neck is 1.69" Wide @ Nut, 2.22" Wide @ 24th Fret. The Paige capo does work well on this guitar. It does store behind the nut, and like the Taylor GS Mini, gets strings pulled slightly sharp but I don't need to retune moving it around between the 1st and 5th fret. Due to the neck width I cannot move the capo higher than the 7th fret. I have only one song that I fake a mandolin sound at the 14th so I have to use my Dunlop Capo for that. Overall the Paige Capo is sleek and non-intrusive and seems to work well for us both. I'm ordering another right now.

Works as intended! Don't overpay on all these other capos!
I recently purchased a new Taylor ps14ce 2018 model and was a little concerned about the clip style capo I had that I've used for years. It was actually ok but didn't clamp the top strings as well and I wasn't sure if it would leave a mark on the neck over time so I purchased this capo. It doesn't scratch or dent the deck or fretboard in any way and is a perfect clamp for all the strings so no rattle can be heard and the neck isn't under any un-wanted stress. It seems very durable yet only the test of time will verify this but as far as functionality and ease of use, this capo is just what you need! I'm using it on a $9000 Taylor so don't be so worried about using on anything more or less. Just be sure to have the clip at the top and henge at the bottom like it says on the packaging and don't overtighten it. Put it on just barely snug and play the strings openly with one hand while you slightly tighten the capo with the other hang just enough so all strings play without buzz and you are good to go. Slightly loosen it gradually and flip the clip and open to remove it. Some people store their capo near the truss rod cover beneath the strings but I don't do this but you might be able to with this capo. I just choose not to for cosmetic and storage reasons.

The capo you've been searching for!!!
Finally!!! The perfect capo! Waste no more time and purchase this capo!! I've been playing guitar for 30 years and finding a good capo was a struggle until I got the Paige! It's very well made and durable. Works exactly how you would want a capo to work with perfect intonation and sound. Plus it looks sleek! And there's finish options, like black or nickel etc. This would also make it excellent gift for guitarist friend. Well done, Paige 💯 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Latch is problematic
The capo worked fine on my D-18 requiring little pressure when tightening and gave a good sound. However, the new hook clasp design is not user-friendly and is extremely difficult to use. Someone on the guitar forums suggested using some light machine oil on the latch to loosen it up but I decided to return the capo. Also, the tubing that goes on the bar was a little too long and blocked the bar from dropping into its seat easily, which was another annoyance. The capo is well made and does its job but the one I received was just too difficult to use. I ended up getting a Shubb F1, which is twice the price but has a very nice spring-loaded latch and goes on and off the neck in just a few seconds.

Genau, was ich wollte
