Does the Job
This product is a necessity more than something I would have personally looked for. The UPS for my telephone system uses this battery and the phone company doesn't support it so I needed to find one on my own. I could not find one at Radio Shack, PC Richard or Best Buy. It seemed that Amazon was the best option to get it (through one of their supported dealers). The price is fairly reasonable and it took about a week for it to come. I had a hard time getting the wire leads off my own battery and since this battery didn't come with any wires I had to be extra careful not to break the wires from the old battery.Other than that it was easy to install but someone with no mechanical inkling might have had a hard time because the package came with no instructions. I basically had to look at how the old battery was installed and make sure I installed the new battery the same way. Once removed I was able to bring the old battery to Radio Shack for recycling. The battery has been in for more than a month with no issues. So basically it does the job and it appears that Amazon is the best place to buy it if you need it.

Yet another battery review
A fine replacement for the Verizon and Frontier FIOS backup device. Worked for me after my backup power case started making a chirping sound every few minutes. Ironically, just unplugging the battery altogether will make the chirping and beeping sound stop. So I wonder if I should have bothered with getting a new one. It snowed few weeks later and the power went out. The phone was still working while the power was out, so the battery was likely working fine.I observed a few reviews where customers have complained that the brand name of the battery they ordered isn't the same as the one printed on it. It doesn't matter since you've never heard of these brands anyway. And it's entirely likely these battery brands all come from the same assembly line in Asia anyway. There are several variations and manufacturers of this battery and they are all likely equivalent.Another review correctly pointed out that you need to keep the cable that attaches the battery to the backup power supply, as the new battery doesn't come with one. And that it can be a challenge to remove. I didn't have that problem. A gentle tug on the red/back leads, and it popped off with ease. But if you have trouble, a decent pair of pliers should work.

Works great in FIOS UPS
I've had this installed in my Verizon FIOS UPS for a while now, and it's working great. It's a perfect dimension match for the original battery, so no trouble getting the cover back on or anything like that.Just make sure you keep the leads (short connector wires) when you remove the original battery. They detach at both ends -- from the UPS end and from the battery terminals -- so don't make the mistake of throwing them away. You don't get new ones with the battery.I say that because I had a devil of a time getting them to let go of the battery terminals. It'd be easy to make the mistake of thinking they're permanently attached. Turns out there's a catch on the inside of the positive (red) terminal that you can't get to directly. You just have to grab it with a pair of pliers or small vice grips, being careful not to crush it, and move it "the right way." It'll come free after a bit of persuasion. I wish I could tell you exactly which way to move it to free it, but honestly, I just moved it left/right/up/down until it detached. If someone else knows an actual method, please enlighten me.

Replacement for Verizon FIOS battery
Fit right into the space in the unit and stopped the annoying beeping and red light. The packing was very minimal (plastic bag, terminal protectors and placed in a bubble wrap USPS envelope, so hopefully all is well. The battery itself had no cracks or visible damage, but I expected it to be in a cardboard box with styrofoam inserts as other batteries I've purchase previously for other items, but as long as it works and isn't damaged when it arrives (and it wasn't), then it's ok I guess. The price was definately right, so I can't complain at this point. we'll see how long it lasts. Good purchase. My wiring from the original Verizon supplied battery fit right on the terminals.

Great Purchase
I was a little leery about purchasing the non-OEM battery. So far so good. Battery is nearly identical to the one it replaced. Will it last as long as the original...probably not, but at less than half the cost I am not worried about that. The original one lasted 5 years and I doubt I will keep FIOS for another 5 years, so why do I want to support Verizon's vendor. Plus, reality is any real company would be replacing an internal battery in equipment that is "their" property since as the consumer we do not own the equipment even though it is located in our homes. Sorry, but couldn't help the jab! At least we are able to find lower cost replacement batteries and this seems to be a good bet. I will update if battery fails after 6 months. There are some bad reviews on this, maybe I was just lucky and got a good one.
