Just suck it up buttercup
AND BUY THIS KNIFE. So I don’t even know where to start as to why I bought this knife... long and short, I mostly wanted a “budget” knife that I could feel ok about working over at camp or in the wild some where. FAILED. I did not want to spend this amount of money for a knife to beat up in the field, but I did and I am SO NOT SORRY. If I had the money right now, I would buy the whole ESEE knife line—all of them for no reason but to just have. I fell in love with this knife immediately... it’s hella sharp and just tears through wood and processes it all with ease. It not only looks cool but it feels really good in the hand—makes you feel like it’s going to work very hard and very well for you. It’s light enough to not get tired using it and heavy enough to get work done. I am a rookie at “survival”/bush craft (I have to call it camping to these city folks out here who think I am crazy) and I was able to manage basic tasks with just the one knife and with confidence that I could handle the blade. PLEASE just spend the money on one high quality knife and you will not be sorry. I’m already eyeballing the PR-4 so I can round off both sides of survival and bushcraft and keep it in the same line of knives. Also, because I watch a few to many YouTube vids, I did a thing...see the pics. The carbon fiber sheath matches the handles! Yeeeeah I am that person. Look why not survive with style?! Plus, I can attach my fire kit to the Titan Survival Cord and feel confident that I can always make fire. Like so..see last pic. Naturally, I am changing the pouch to black, again, style points! Upgraded sheath or not... JUST BUY THIS BLADE.

Truly A Great Knife
If you've been thinking about buying the Esee 6, wait no longer. I wrestled with spending what I did for it, but once I held it in my hand, I immediately felt like a got a wonderful deal. You can tell that there is a tremendous amount of thought placed on the quality control over at Esee. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect, it has almost perfect balance, and feels amazing in hand. From a performance standpoint, the Esee 6 has a nice 5.75" cutting edge, with 6.5" of 1095 steel from handle to tip. It is 3/16" thick and sharp as a razor right out of the box. Given those specs, one can see that this blade was made for cutting stuff, and it does can well. I've made fire sticks, now drills and simple shelters with it, then turn around process a fish without a problem.I would consider this a wonderful "Jack of All Trades" knife. The way it was built gives you the ability to slide back on the handle, which transfers most of the knife weight forward, and generate more chopping power. Additionally, the design provides the ability to slide up on the handle, where you are shortening the blade at the center of weight distribution, which allows you to gain control of the blade for finer tasks.Their are knives out there for all walks of life and needs. I am 6'3", and wear a size XXL glove. This KnifeWorks well for me... I EDC the Esee 3, which was purchased as a result of how much I like the Esee 6, and it also feels great in hand and performs well.If I had to do over, I would have purchased this knife, from what looks like a typo above, a year ago when I first started thinking about it. It gets to go out and play every time I go, while all the other 9 knives stay home. Stay safe my friends!

Esee vs Tops
I looked at a couple of Esse's and a couple of Tops to try and determine which would be best suited for me for general purpose camping and hiking duties. I am not a all out bushcrafter and wasn't looking for ways to destroy a perfectly good knife by using it as a prybar, to cut rocks in half or to do things knives aren't made to do. I simply wanted something that was going to be reliable for what I needed it for and that is typically to make kindling, to baton wood, some feather sticking, general cutting and slicing duties while maintaining a good edge and also being easy to resharpen. I had the Tops Brakimo as well as the Brothers of Bushcraft and compared them to the Esee 4 and the Esee 6. I truly believe that all four could have easily done the job and I would have been happy with any of them, I ended up choosing the Esee for a couple of reasons. I like the full flat grind on the Esse's but most importantly as a left-hander, the Esse's had way more ability to carry in different ways; specifically left-handed. While the Tops were really good quality knives and had decent sheaths, they were leather and only came and right-handed versions. I understand that I could have worn it and either drew the knife backwards from my left side or did a cross draw but for the price of the knives I didn't feel like I should have to buy another sheath or resort to cross drawing if I didn't need to. So I ended up keeping the Esee 6 and the Esee 4 which I'm sure will do everything I need them to and more while giving me the ability to actually carry it on my left side and drawing it in a normal way.
