Stop working after 2 months
I purchased 5W version of the solar air pump in July 2021. It was easy to setup. It was working as expected and I loved it. However, couple weeks ago, it just stoped working. I try to clean the panel, checked the connection to be sure and nothing! There was no air, the air pump is dead. Update: 9/20201 Lewisia contacted me, and wanted to address my problem with the pump. I was surprised since I did not initiate the communication. They offered to replace the product, which I did not ask. I think that if the company is standing behind their product, and concerns with customer satisfaction. You, as customer, can purchase with confidence. It was my mistake to not contact the company when I had a problem and wrote a bad review.

All the Features I Wanted
This pump worked great right out of the box with no preliminary charge time, and with the battery backup, it was still working the next morning. After about a month, it stopped working. Unfortunately, the manual is minimal, and includes no troubleshooting tips. I watched it for several days and then contacted the company. I tried cleaning out the air intake hole and cutting out a small kink in the tubing, but it still wasn't working. Because I wasn't sure how long it would take Lewisia to respond, I did my research all over again, and when I couldn't find another pump with the same features (bubble stones instead of a fountain, solar power, backup battery), I ordered another one because I'd been so happy with it when it was working. The company contacted me right away and offered me a replacement, but since they'd also noticed that I'd ordered a new one, they offered me the option of a reimbursement. Meanwhile, the new pump arrived and I took it out to the pond to connect it. But when I picked up the old pump, I noticed that it was vibrating. So I pulled up the stones, and sure enough, they were bubbling merrily. I still don't know what I did to fix it (although I did push all the buttons again before I went to disconnect it) or if it just went on vacation for a week. But I am, once again, delighted with this product.

wouldn't recommend
this was my second unit i ordered. the first worked fine for 3-4 days and then a storm blew it in my pond and damaged the motor, it only worked occasionally. probably my fault on that one, ordered another one. the second, went through the start-up process, put it by my pond and it ran 3 hrs and crapped out. power would not come on. long story short, the solar panel worked, the batteries would charge, and the motor would come on when the batteries were connected directly to the switch, but the circuit board would not pass power from the panel to the batteries, or the power button. i've never had luck fixing a circuit board, so i gave up at that point. overall, i just wouldn't recommend it.

Had an issue and company replaced!
My pump stopped working after a month (likely due to water exposure due to neighbors sprinkler) and the company replaced it free of charge. Great customer service and fast response! I am buying a waterproof electrical box ($10 on amazon) to house the pump to prevent this from happening again! May 2024 update: pump is still working fine, highly recommended an electrical box to protect the motor from weather.

They fixed the issue!
Great product, very straight forward and easy to set up. Lots of air flow and the solar panel function is dynamic and sexy. However my Koi would have liked the air to last longer than one summer โน๏ธ I tested all the parts and the pump has died, alas no air. But by fate, the company reached out to me, assessed the issue and replaced it for me. Now we are back up and running great! Thanks!

Great at first but Pump Died: Update Nov 5 2021
I live in an area with Sulfur smell in the water. This is caused by the Dihydrogen Sulfide Gas that is produced by Iron eating bacteria and becomes dissolved in the water. I bought this to aerate my water storage tank and pull out the H2SO. While the pump worked this was a fantastic little setup. The Solar Cell still appears to work and is showing status lights and voltage on the connector. The pump itself no longer works. The pump is supposed to be constant use but it failed in less than two months. Update: Lewisia was kind enough to send me a replacement pump which I installed and it worked. However, now less than two months later the pump is not capable of pumping air hard enough to produce bubbles through the aeration stones. This has served as a good proof of concept for me but the pump is just not of good enough quality to last more than two months of continuous use. This is a bit disappointing as I liked having a device I didn't need to plug into the wall. Update: I really didn't want to give up on this as it was working fairly well. The conditions of the pump is inside a Rubbermaid upright storage housing underneath an eave of the house. It is well sheltered from the weather. The hose and power enter in beneath it preventing weather elements from affecting the pump. I performed some maintenance on the pump. The following is probably not for everyone. I removed the four phillips head screws from the housing. Opened the cover and loosened the wire restraint. I needed a precision phillips head screw driver for those on the pump. Upon opening the actual pump head I discovered a good amount of dirt on the inlets and on the pump diaphragm. I cleaned them off with qtips and distilled water and then reassembled the pump. I put in back into the system and it started pumping air again. Unfortunately this little guy has no filter on him so I will have to make this part of the maintenance for the pump in order to keep it working. Happily this is a fairly easy clean though tedious. I've raised my score to 3 stars as the product is salvageable and does do what I want it to do again.

Not Impressed - broke after only 6 months. .
One emitter fails to work consistently. Solar panel weak. Sun goes behind clouds, it stops working. Battery is weak. Disappointed with the performance. Well, it has died. It didnโt even last the winter. There was plenty of sunshine, the power unit was protected, the solar panel protected.

Broke, but I got A+ customer service!
This pump is perfect for my needs, and did a great job. Unfortunately, the pump broke after a little over a month. It comes with a warranty, so I contacted the seller. Lewisia was extremely fast in responding (same day), and sent me a new pump immediately. I couldn't believe the awesome customer service!!!!! I hope to do business with them again, as they do stand behind their products. Happy customer here! :-)
