Motorcraft YH-1769 A/C Heater Blend Door Lever

Works 100% as expected. Getting the old one out and this new one back in is a whole other story.I did like several YouTube channels said and pulled the bottom of the dash and the speedo cluster out.Took 1 hour to remove the old part and I wasted a lot of time trying to get the new one in as the splines would never line up and my hands were too big.I ran out of daylight on the first attempt to get it back in so the next day I tried again but used a long set of hemostat (about 1 ft long) to hold the actuator under the dash while lining up all the bolts and splines. Once I used this tool, I had it installed and the dash back together in under 1 hour.Part looked exactly as the OEM it removed, as expected because it was advertised as a Motorcraft part

GENUINE FORD PART!!!! NOT CHEAP KNOCK OFF!!After the nightmare of installing behind driver side dash, works!Def get the Dewalt 90 degree flex tool. WILL NEED IT!!! Use magnetic sockets!This fixes the switching problem of Ford Explorer (2014 mine) between blower air from front defrost to main vents and floor vents and mix of them.Keep old one, break open and use the big white gear to help set the rotation before putting new one in. If no luck that way, pop new one in as much as it will go, plug dash console in and hit the air switching buttons while holding and pushing new one in until the teeth slide in on their own. Then screw in.

There's a lot of confusion around this part for 2004-2008 11th gen F-150 owners, so I hope my below review helps clear this up. TLDR: This actuator goes under the DRIVER'S side of the dash, right above the gas pedal. This unit controls vent mode doors. This does NOT go behind the center radio unit, which controls the blend door. The actuator behind the radio unit has a significantly longer stem than this one. If you need the actuator behind the radio, then you'll want MotorCraft part number YH1752I own a 2005 F-150 XLT with manual climate controls, and I was experiencing an issue where my air and heat would only blow out of the defrost and floor vents. I did a lot of research online, and I initially thought it was a vacuum line issue, but that only applies to F-150s that are year 2003 and older. 10th gen and below F series have their climate system vent doors controlled via a vacuum line from the engine bay. But 2004 and up F-150s use an electronic mode actuator (this product) to control the vent doors. I realized that my actuator was not working when I would switch my vent mode to front panel only, but it was still blowing out of just the defrost and floor.Installing this is slightly difficult, you'll just have to angle your hand in with an 8mm socket to get the 3 screws that mount this to the side of the footwell, to the top right of the gas pedal. It's an awkward position but it's doable. You'll also need to disconnect the cable that has a red tab at the end of it by pulling on the red tab, then pushing on the release mechanism holding the connector in place to pull it off. Once I installed my new one, my vent mode selection began working properly.5 stars for this part, as it solved my problem.

I replaced this blend door actuator on my 2015 Ford Explorer. I spent several hours trying to fix it into its slot. Only after an hour awkward angles failing to install it where the screw holes lined up, did I take another look at the device to find the notched knob was assembled incorrectly. I had to open the product, realign the knob, then reassemble. After that, I finished the installation in 15 minutes, including screwing all the parts back in place. Product works well and fits my car. It's been months and still no issues. Taking off one star because of the misassembled problem. This product will not fit if not assembled exactly the way it needs to be.

After buying a cheaper off-brand name and it feeling real quick I went with this one and it's worked perfectly since.

OEM. Durability same, works at it should. Installation was a little tough got it done in 400ish minutes. If you know what to look for under neath the driver side near the acceleration peddle above beside it. It matched the OEM for sure. Value not bad.

Tho item did not fit my 2013 ford explore.

This is the motor you need if your vents won't change from defrost to vent or floor. Absolute nightmare to get to, but we were able to go in behind the gauge cluster. Exact match of the motor we removed. Functions as expected. Will update if it fails.

Absolute pain in the butt to install but is worth it. We lost the ability to select the vents in our 2016 explorer. And now I can see out of my windshield. If you are doing it yourself watch videos and see what you are getting into. You can do it, just take your time. You got this.

Amazon confirms that this part fits 2018 Ford Explorer, it does not!!!It also is stated all genuine Ford OEM, I doubt it is.It also arrived very poorly packaged and had also been re-packed in poor quality packaging.I am now returning the part, hopefully for a full refund.A very bad experience on many levels.
